Feastables Chocolate Milk: Treat or Training Fuel?
Mr Beast is by no means a fitness influencer, but his latest invention might be of some interest to gym-goers.
The king of YouTube has just dropped a new chocolate milk through his viral candy company, Feastables, and it packs an impressive protein punch.
Taking inspiration from the brand’s cult favorite Milk Chocolate bar, Feastables Chocolate Milk bridges the gap between childhood nostalgia and adult nutrition.
Billed as “the upgrade your milk deserves,” the recipe features several functional additions that raise the stakes beyond what’s expected from the usual sippable cartons.
Whole milk is mixed with vitamins A and D, added milk protein isolate, and Fairtrade cocoa powder to create a shelf-stable craving crusher.
Two size options are available:
- 8oz cartons with 13g protein
- 14oz bottles packing 23g protein
The only drawback? Sugar, and lots of it. The smaller carton has 23g of total sugars (12g added), while the larger bottles deliver 41g (21g added) of the sweet stuff.
As you might expect, the inclusion of whole milk raises the fat and calorie count beyond what’s typically expected from a bottled protein shake.
It’s worth noting, though, this isn’t a protein shake — it’s chocolate milk, with protein added.
In today’s market, protein is table stakes for any ready-to-drink beverage. It’s also a handy selling point when other aspects — such as the sugar content — stray from “healthy” territory.
Mr Beast’s audience is mostly children, and hitting protein goals isn’t typically high on their to-do list.
Feastables Chocolate Milk looks to be an attempt to widen that demographic to older fans — those who would value the added anabolic injection.
If you’re after a treat with perks, a recovery shake following intense exercise, or you’re midway through a dirty bulk, Feastables Chocolate Milk may well do the trick.
However, if you’re counting calories, don’t expect it to be as lean as your standard shakes.
