Jake Dearden and James Kelly Smash Pro Doubles World Record At HYROX Houston Qualifier
Jake Dearden and James Kelly made history at HYROX Houston as they smashed the Pro Doubles world record on Saturday, March 15.
The lighting-quick duo completed the race in 50:04, beating previous holders Michael Sandbach and Hunter McIntyre by 14 seconds to raise the bar to new heights and secure qualification for the Pro Doubles Elite 15 World Championship.
With 614,000 followers on Instagram, Red Bull athlete and HYROX Master Trainer, Dearden, is one of the biggest names in the all-action world of HYROX.
His sponsors include mega brands such as Myprotein and PUMA and, alongside partner Kelly, is part of the Built For Athletes team.
Celebrating the mammoth result at HYROX Houston, Built For Athletes said: “When James and Jake hit the track together, it can only mean one thing – a World Record AND a place at the World Championships for the Elite 15 doubles race in Chicago.

James Kelly is Australia’s fastest HYROX athlete and the Head Coach at PRVN HYROX. Reacting to the news of the HYROX Houston victory, PRVN Fitness posted: “NEW WORLD RECORD: 50:04.
“The boys were on a different level tonight. Let’s run it back in Chicago. HYROX Houston, thank you for an absolutely amazing day!”
Two qualifiers in Melbourne and Houston have already taken place for the Pro Doubles Elite 15 World Championship.

There will be a further three events in Miami, Paris, and London before the finals in Chicago, where Dearden and Kelly will be looking to beat their world record and clinch the title.
HYROX is a global fitness racing event that combines both running and functional workout stations, including Sled Push, Rowing, Farmers Carry, Wall Balls, and SkiErg.
