Place To Place Fitness Portable Gym System Review

Like many of you, I’ve been flooded with posts about this new portable gym system that’s all over social media. They call it the Place To Place Gym System, a cheeky reference to its supposed ability to let you workout from ‘place’ to ‘place’. Now, I’m not one to hop on every fitness trend that comes along. In fact, my default setting is scepticism when it comes to these flashy, “revolutionise your workout” claims. But, this one just kept popping up, and eventually, curiosity got the better of me.

So here we are, about to embark on an in-depth, no-holds-barred review of this much-buzzed-about fitness product. Designed to seamlessly fit into our hectic lives, it promises a gym-quality workout wherever in the world you might be. But does it deliver? Buckle up, because we’re going to cut through the hype, and provide an unfiltered, brutally honest assessment of what it’s really like to use the Place To Place Gym System. This won’t be your average review – expect a healthy dose of scepticism and critical analysis as we put this product through its paces.

What’s In The Box?

place to place portable gym system | what's in the box

After opening the box, I was quite surprised with how comprehensive the overall system was, as It included a decent amount of equipment which I assume is needed to workout every muscle. It includes a steel bar, two steel handles, five resistance bands, a multi point door anchor and three steel clips. I will now go over each item and its supposed purpose.

In the box of the Place To Place Gym System, you’ll find a steel bar that comes in three detachable sections, designed to accommodate various shoulder widths. As a broad-shouldered guy, I found the fully extended bar quite comfortable. Also included are two steel handles for isolated exercises—crucial, because not all exercises rely on a bar.

The kit features five resistance bands, each providing a different level of resistance. The key to muscle growth is progressive overload, and while my initial scepticism had me doubting this system’s effectiveness for a seasoned gym-goer like myself, I was proven wrong. By combining the bands for maximum resistance, I could apply progressive overload quite easily. They claim the system can exceed 90kg—I’m yet to max out all bands, but I’m getting there. A multipoint door anchor is also in the box, and frankly, it’s a game-changer. It allows exercises like Lat Pulldowns and Tricep Pushdowns, which are near impossible with other products. Finally, steel clips are included to assemble the system. All in all, it’s a comprehensive set-up, even for the sceptics among us.

Exercise Capabilities

The Place To Place Fitness website makes a bold claim of allowing you to perform unlimited workouts—a bit of over-exaggeration if you ask me. But I get what they mean. My past experiences with resistance bands have been less than impressive, due to issues like lack of secure attachments and discomfort when using heavy resistance.

But this portable gym system, if used right, could give other fitness products a run for their money. It allows for a diverse range of exercises like bicep curls, tricep pushdowns, squats, lat pulldowns—you name it. So, every muscle group getting its fair share of the workout isn’t entirely far-fetched.

What really intrigued me was the sheer portability of this system. As an avid traveller, hunting for a gym in every new city is painful. This portable gym system fits snugly into my backpack, making it a practical travel companion. The thought of lugging around dumbbells like some people do is just absurd. With the Place To Place Gym System, you can now keep up your fitness routine without sacrificing your lifestyle.

Quality And Value

Unpacking the Place To Place Gym System, I was instantly struck by the sturdy feel of each component. When I first came across it on social media, I assumed it as another low-cost, low-quality portable gym product—something you’d typically find on Amazon for under £50. But to my surprise, this system seemed well built.

The steel bar had a robust feel to it, similar to gym-grade equipment, and the resistance bands were noticeably heavy-duty, shown by their thickness and weight. The price tag might seem costly compared to similar products on platforms like eBay, but after weeks of testing this system, I wouldn’t dare draw a comparison anymore.

The Place To Place Gym System is pretty straightforward to use and offers such a substantial load capacity with its variety of bands and it could easily serve as someone’s primary workout gear. The website pitches it as an economical and practical alternative to a full-blown home gym setup, which can cost thousands.

While a home gym, complete with bulky machines, would provide more variety, not everyone is aiming to look like Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. For most people, the Place To Place Gym System is likely to be more beneficial and align better with their fitness goals.

Pros And Cons

Having put the Place To Place Gym System through its paces, I’ve grown to appreciate its strengths and recognise its limitations. As someone who approaches fitness products with a fair dose of scepticism, I’ve left no stone unturned in understanding the effectiveness of this portable gym. Many fitness products on the market today offer the illusion of progress without delivering tangible results. In contrast, one of the standout features of the Place To Place Gym System is its comprehensive kit that allows you to work every muscle group with the right intensity—a crucial factor for anyone serious about muscle building.

Another advantage is its portability—essentially, it’s like having a full-scale gym at your fingertips wherever you go. This feature has garnered much praise in numerous reviews, particularly from those leading busy lives with limited time in the day. Of course, no review would be complete without addressing some limitations, though they were few and far between in my experience. For those aspiring to achieve the physique of a world-class bodybuilder who’s competing, traditional gym equipment might be more suitable.

One suggestion for improvement would be the inclusion of a leg anchor to facilitate exercises like leg extensions. After sharing this feedback with the Place To Place Fitness team, they responded positively, revealing that they already have something along those lines in development.

My Last Thoughts

Wrapping up this review, I’ve now spent a few weeks with the Place To Place Gym System, and yes, from my critical standpoint, there are areas where it could be improved. However, I’m not about to dismiss it just yet. In fact, I’ve incorporated this into my weekly workout routine, particularly on those time-crunched days. So, would I recommend this portable gym system to someone like you? The short answer is yes. If you’re in the market for home gym equipment or if you’re keen to build muscle without the constraints of a traditional gym, this system is worth the investment.

One aspect that stands out in my experience is the commendable customer service from the Place To Place Fitness team. They’ve been readily available and responsive whenever I’ve needed support. My interaction with the company has been overwhelmingly positive, making the experience feel more personal and less transactional. So, despite my initial scepticism, I found the Place To Place Gym System to be a worthy fitness companion. So go ahead and give it a go here.
