UNLTD: Gymfluencers Top Rated Alcohol-Free Beer

UNLTD. beer changed my drinking habits for the better, and here’s how.

I like to think that I’m a determined person with strong willpower. After all, turning up to the gym to push myself day after day takes a certain type of character.

Yet, when it comes to alcohol, I just can’t say no. Several New Year’s resolutions have been broken in emphatic fashion just days after being made.

I’d love to say it took a significant amount of arm-bending to get me to stray from my short-lived sobriety, but I’d be lying.

All I need is one message in the group chat to gain traction, and I’m there, like a moth to a flame, pint in hand.

However, for the first time this year, I managed to complete Dry January without so much as a drop of alcohol passing my lips.

Hell, I even went two weeks into February without having a drink. Then came my friend’s birthday, a pub crawl along the Bermondsey Beer Mile that was only going to end one way: messy.

And just like that, weeks of building good habits, feeling more energised, and more productive, were replaced by the same bad ones that have long hampered my fitness journey.

Why do I do it? Because, in all honesty, I really enjoy a beer—a lot of us do, and the low-alcohol alternatives just weren’t doing it for me.

With summer on the horizon, I was more determined than ever to balance my drinking habits. That doesn’t mean giving it up for good; rather, it means finding an alcohol-free beer that I actually enjoy so I can pick and choose when to take the handbrake off.

After a little bit of research, I came across UNLTD. The reviews were promising, the beer low calorie, and they had my personal favourite, IPA.

A case of both UNLTD.’s beers secured, including that tempting IPA, it was time to crack a couple open and see what all the fuss was about.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you my UNLTD. beer review.

The Macros

It goes against every fibre of my being to start off a beer review by talking about the macros, but here we are.

Bizarrely, I check the label of every single product I buy in the supermarket, yet when it comes to alcohol I don’t have the faintest idea what I’m consuming.

Plenty of you are probably in a similar boat, so I’ve done some digging. A standard 330ml bottle of beer contains around 140 calories, and even more, if you go the whole hog and grab yourself a pint.

Pretty shocking reading when you start to tally up how many beers you might go through over the course of a night out or during a long afternoon in a sun-drenched beer garden.

In comparison, UNLTD.’s lager comes in at 23 calories per bottle, while the IPA returns just 13 calories. Talk about chalk and cheese.

You could sink a few of these beauties and still use less than 150 calories from your daily allowance.

As an added bonus, both UNLTD.’s lager and IPA are enriched with B vitamins, enhancing the feel-good benefits of staying off the sauce.

Can You Taste The Difference?

UNLTD beer has a unique taste

Next up in this UNLTD. beer review is arguably the most important factor: the taste. Drinking a beer is more than just a means to get drunk.

For many people, an ice-cold beer brings a certain comfort and catharsis after a long week. There’s something almost ceremonial about the whole process.

We mark both the good times and the bad with a drink, and that habitual relationship is what makes raising a pint so special.

For an alcohol-free alternative to replicate that experience, the flavour has to be spot on. It needs to deliver the same thirst-quenching, hoppy bite that hits the sweet spot of familiarity.

So, the big question is, does UNLTD. pull it off?

Let’s start with the larger. At the risk of sounding like a wannabe connoisseur, a good lager needs to have a crisp, refreshing taste that’s as mellow as it is smooth.

Bold statement incoming in three, two, one… UNLTD. is hands down the best alcohol-free lager I’ve tasted to date. There, I said it.

It’s everything you want in a lager; crisp, light, a little citrusy, and oh so moreish. Hints of honey and caramel are rounded off with a slight bitterness that brings everything together.

The only thing this lager doesn’t deliver compared to its alcoholic counterparts is feelings of self-loathing and a crippling hangover, which isn’t such a bad thing.

Lager nailed, can they make it two for two with the IPA I was so looking forward to trying?

Yes, yes, and yes again. I’m running out of superlatives for these beers, and can you blame me? It’s easy to see why both have been recognised with numerous awards.

The tropical fruits, complex malt flavours, and bitter backbone work in perfect harmony to deliver that quirky craft beer vibe. I could quite easily see myself sinking a few of these at a BBQ and not missing the alcohol one bit.

The Price

pricing of unltd lager and IPA

The final piece of the puzzle in this UNLTD. beer review is the price. Aside from the health benefits, plenty of people cut down on their drinking to save some much-needed coin.

Pints are only getting more expensive by the day, and as we all know, beer can be a gateway to further poor financial decisions. Do kebabs, £40 taxis, and shots sound familiar?

A case of 12 UNLTD. beers, whether it’s the lager or the IPA, costs £25, which roughly works out to a reasonable £2 per bottle. The more you buy, the cheaper they get, so if you’ve got the fridge space, I’d advise stocking up in bulk.

Plus, there’s a weekly subscription offer that takes the price down to around £1.77 per bottle. All things considered, UNLTD. takes the crown as our favourite alcohol-free beer here at Gymfluencers.
