Montell was born on January 24 1986, in Lewisham, London and raised by her Jamaican parents. She studied Sports Science at Brunel University. She began her career in sports when she competed in the 2007 European Athletics Indoor Championship before competing as part of the 2007 4x100m relay team in the 2007 Word Championship in Athletics held in Osaka.
Records
Montell made history in the 2008 athletics season by breaking Kathy Cook’s longstanding British record in the 100 meters. She set a new record with a remarkable time of 11.05 seconds, making her a record-holder. Later, in 2016, she transitioned to bobsleigh, representing Great Britain in the two-woman bobsleigh event at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.
