The talented American freestyle swimmer, Matthew Carl King, better known by his stage name, Matt King, is not just a swimmer, but also a 2024 Summer Olympics team member for the United States.

Matt King was born to the family of Linda King and Craig King on February 19, 2002, in Washington, United States, making him 22 years old. He has two brothers, Chris King and Brian King.

At 17 years old, King had started swimming competitively for Indiana. He won several titles, including the 100-meter Winter Junior National Championship, the 50- and 100-meter Washington State High School Championships, and a silver medal in the USA Swimming Summer Junior National Championships.
King eventually moved to Alabama, where he trained with Coley Stickels. While he was at Alabama, he came second in the 50-meter freestyle and won the 100-meter freestyle championship in the 2021 Southeastern Conference.
Career
After several wins at Alabama, King moved to Virginia. King kept up his excellent performance in Charlottesville. In the 200 free relay (1:14.47), King split 18.49 to help Virginia win an ACC title and set an American record. This was King’s first ACC Championship. He also came ninth in the 50 free (19.17), 26th in the 100 fly, and second in the 100 free (41.89).
His most recent win is the gold medal at the Paris Olympics on Saturday. The 4×100-meter freestyle relay team won the United States’ first gold medal of the Paris Olympics.
Although the 22-year-old gold medalist wasn’t in the lineup for the United States’ victory at Paris La Defense Arena, he won a gold medal.
