Bob Body Wash Review: The No-Fuss Grooming Essential You Didn’t Know You Needed

If you’re sick of sub-par soap, this Bob body wash review is for you:

I’ve got to be honest — I generally put very little effort into selecting a shower gel. While my partner has an 11-a-side lineup of lotions and potions ready to go by the side of the bath, I’ll generally just grab whatever’s on offer.

While not ideal, my habit was never a huge problem until I started to notice my skin feeling a little tight and rough around the edges when the weather began to turn.

At 28, I’m now at the stage of my life where skincare is beginning to creep up on my priority list. It’s still mostly an afterthought, but my body is starting to give me a few untimely hints that my best days are behind me.

Buoyed by my withering looks, I decided the best place to start was with a new body wash, and my search led me to Bob.

No, Bob isn’t the cashier at my local supermarket, or a shady character who goes around selling knock-off moisturisers from the back of a van. It’s a 3-in-1 body wash solution with all the bells and whistles.

Dubbed the world’s first hard refillable body wash bar, I thought there’d be no better place to start. So, I grabbed my starter pack using code GYMFLUENCERSAGENCY for 10% off, and here’s what I thought.

Bob Body Wash Review: What, Or Who, Is Bob?

Bob is a complete kit that provides everything from the soap to a handheld applicator with an exfoliating brush head. Inside my bundle, I received:

  • Two bars of soap (Bob bars), specially formulated to match men’s skin pH (5.5)
  • A refillable applicator to house and dispense the Bob bars
  • Exfoliating bristles for better scrubbing action
  • A shower mount to keep Bob within easy reach

My first impressions were extremely positive. While I hadn’t yet put Bob to the test, it was already far more kit than I’d ever had before.

The applicator came with a travel-friendly cap — ideal for when I’m on holiday or at the gym, and the Bob bars, which had a subtle yet pleasant scent, slotted neatly into the device. So far, so good.

My Bob Body Wash Review

I’m like a kid at Christmas when I get something new. I’d already showered the day Bob arrived, but the next morning seemed far too long to wait to use my new toy.

So, I battled through the mousetraps of shampoo bottles and body butters my partner had laid out, and got to scrubbing.

What did I think? The game has changed. I never thought I’d say these words, but every man needs Bob in his shower.

Let’s start with the applicator: it’s compact, simple to grip, and doesn’t just blast soap out everywhere. The exfoliating brush heads provided a much deeper cleanse, and they weren’t brittle or scratchy like the few I’d tried in the past.

Our Bob Body Wash Review

The soap itself felt really high quality. Formulated with a host of premium ingredients like beeswax to lock in moisture, shea butter, and coconut oil, my expectations were high going into this Bob body wash review.

I’m so pleased to say that, for once, they were met. The neutral scent, dubbed “The Gentleman,” smelled fresh and deodorising without launching an assault on the nostrils.

Plus, it works perfectly well for your hair and face, too. I’m a man who likes his convenience, and in my world, less is very much more.

I don’t want to toggle between three different bottles when I’m already running late for work, so Bob provided the ideal solution.

Last but by no means least, the shower mount is a clever added touch. What drove me away from hard soap in the first place was the slimy feel of picking up bars that had been left to sit in water.

Bob’s shower mount holds the applicator upside down, draining away all that excess water once you’re done using it.

Top marks so far in this Bob body wash review.

Bob Body Wash Review: Is It Durable?

Bob’s applicator is tested to last for up to 3,721 uses – in other words, two showers a day for five years. It certainly felt sturdy to me, and there was no sign it was about to crumble in my hands.

The Bob bars are good for up to 15 washes each, and you can keep yourself topped up with a running soapscription (if you’ll excuse the dad joke).

Bob Body Wash Review: How Much Does Bob Cost?

The initial kit cost me £21, as I opted for the running refill. Once you’ve got the applicator, it’s £7 per delivery of Bob bars. You can set the frequency and skip or cancel at any time, so it doesn’t feel like you’re signing your life away.

Bob Body Wash Review: Would I Recommend It?

Would I recommend Bob? Absolutely. Not only did this bundle improve the quality of soap I’m using and leave me feeling more refreshed, it also streamlined the whole experience.

Plus, it’s a great feeling not throwing away a plastic bottle every few days. It’s safe to say I’ll never be putting supermarket shower gel in my basket again.

This Bob body wash review has taught me one thing: It pays to care about your skincare.

If you, like me, want to join the body wash revolution, head over to Bob’s website and use code GYMFLUENCERSAGENCY for 10% off.
