Getting in a relationship can often have an adverse effect on staying in shape, especially if you and your partner like to wine and dine together.
But Irish influencer Rob Lipsett and his girlfriend of four years Linda Smyth are the perfect examples of how you can keep the fire burning through a mutual love of burning fat.
Speaking in a recent YouTube video, the Dubliner said Linda is often the woman behind the camera, and while she isn’t always seen, the clothing designer and model is a permanent fixture in the gym.
“We actually train together pretty much every single day,” he said. “I think that’s a huge component to our relationship, it adds a lot of value and is one of the reasons why we’ve been together a long time. You train together, you stay together.”
Hitting up Ultimate Performance gym in sunny Marbella, the pair lined up a leg-shaking glute workout which consisted of barbell squats, hip thrusts, split squats, straight leg deadlifts, and hamstring curls and kickbacks for some isolation work to finish. Rob revealed the rep range for the monster workout is typically between 8-12 for 3 sets of each exercise.
Laying down a challenge for Linda, the 30-year-old said he’d take her shopping in Puerto Banús to buy anything she wanted if she managed to push 60kg for 3-5 reps – no easy feat considering her petite frame.
Perhaps spurred on by the prospect of a new dress, the Irish bombshell rattled off five reps at a new personal best with relative ease, earning herself a cheeky tap on the bum and a shopping trip to boot.
Having smashed through the workout, the sweaty duo headed to check on the progress of their villa, a project they have been working on now for several months.
In what sounds like an exciting few weeks for the pair, they’re heading back to Dublin before jetting off to Mallorca and Montenegro before finally moving into their forever home.
