Introducing DASH Water’s Range of Sustainable Soft Drinks

Say hello to DASH’s range of sustainable soft drinks, made with real wonky fruit that might otherwise go to waste.

DASH Water started with a pretty simple idea: fruit doesn’t need to look perfect to taste good.

That’s why the brand uses real wonky fruit in its sparkling drinks, helping to make better use of produce that might otherwise be wasted.

We’re talking about the bent, squashed, knobbly and misshapen fruit that can get rejected because it doesn’t look neat enough for supermarket shelves. There’s nothing wrong with the taste, but because it doesn’t look the part, it can easily be left behind.

DASH takes that fruit and turns it into sustainable soft drinks with no sugar, no calories and no sweeteners.

And if you want to try it for yourself you can save 30% off your order with our DASH discount code GYMFLUENCERS30.

The DASH Water story

DASH Water was launched in 2017 by co-founders Jack Scott and Alex Wright, who both grew up on farms and saw the food waste problem first hand.

They’d seen how much perfectly good fruit and veg could be rejected before it ever reached shoppers, just because it didn’t look quite right. It might be bent, curved, squashed, marked or just not the kind of perfect-looking produce people expect to see in a supermarket.

So when they started working on a range of sustainable sparkling waters, using wonky fruit made complete sense.

DASH became a way to take fruit that could have been wasted and give it a new use. Instead of letting good produce go unseen, the brand uses it to create drinks that are simple, refreshing and much smarter than letting that fruit disappear from the supply chain.

Sustainable soft drinks made with wonky fruit

DASH gets its flavour from real fruit that’s been rejected for how it looks.

That could be knobbly peaches, squashed limes or misshapen produce that still tastes great, even if it doesn’t look perfect.

DASH uses that fruit to create natural extracts for its drinks, so every can keeps things simple with sparkling water, real fruit flavour, zero calories, no sugar and no sweeteners.

Once DASH has created the fruit extract, the leftover fruit is sent to a nearby biogas plant and converted into electricity.

So the fruit gets put to proper use, the leftovers aren’t wasted, and the whole thing feels like a much smarter way to make sustainable soft drinks.

Recyclable packaging

DASH didn’t stop at wonky fruit when it came to its commitment to sustainability.

Its cans, glass bottles, cardboard boxes and shrink wrap are fully recyclable. The cans are made from aluminium too, which can be recycled again and again without losing its quality.

DASH is also pretty honest about plastic. The plastic it currently uses is recyclable, but the long-term goal is to reduce plastic to zero, and the brand is still looking for better ways to package its drinks.

The brand is also ClimatePartner certified, which means it calculates and works to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions, while also supporting climate projects.
