Today, there are countless fitness and diet influencers on social media–TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram. But not many are as vocal or raw as former bodybuilding champion Eddie Abbew. Eddie Abbew’s food posts usually contain many don’ts. Here, we have scrounged out some of the foods he recommends for healthy living.
Edward ‘Eddie’ Abbew enjoyed a 12-year career, including a 1997 British Championship and a third-place finish in Ironman 2007 which took him to Mr Olympia in the same year.
Nowadays, Abbew is better known for his rather out-of-the-box views on diet and nutrition. While loads of people think they are unfounded, he’s developed a not-so-secret following online for his diet plans and nutrition myths. Here are some foods Eddie Abbew reveals you should eat.
1. Eggs
If you’ve ever seen an Eddie Abbew food video, there’s a chance he mentioned eggs while debunking a myth or recommending a diet.
According to him, an egg-based diet free of carbohydrates gives him’ more energy’ than he did in his 30s. Since eliminating carbohydrates from his diet, Abbew has been a staunch advocate of eggs for shedding fat and gaining muscle mass.
2. Red meat
Eddie is a staunch advocate for a ‘carnivore’ diet, and red meat is one of his rather radical recommendations. Red meat like steak or lamb contains high protein and fat with few calories, the very components of a healthy meal, according to Abbew.
3. Salt
Well, you don’t get certain minerals in meat and eggs, making salt a necessity in your diet plan —or so Abbew says. While many health experts would recommend reducing–or removing—salt with age, Eddie maintains that it is optimal for human health.
There are plenty of people who think Eddie Abbew’s food plans take the fun out of life. What do you think?
