Errol Spence Jr. vs. Tim Tszyu is bringing one of the biggest boxing cards Australia has seen to Sydney this July.

The two former world champions meet at Afterpay Arena on Sunday 26th July 2026, with Tszyu taking on the biggest name of his career in front of a home crowd.

For Spence, the fight marks his long awaited return to the ring after almost three years away. His last appearance came against Terence Crawford in July 2023, when he suffered the only defeat of his professional career.

The main event is scheduled for 12 rounds and will now take place at the middleweight limit of 160lb.

That is the latest twist in a fight where the agreed weight has already moved more than once.

Tszyu and his team had originally expected the contest to take place at the super welterweight limit of 154lb. Spence’s team then pushed for 160lb, with both sides eventually agreeing on a catchweight of 158lb after lengthy talks.

Less than two weeks before the fight, Spence requested another change, taking the limit up to the full 160lb middleweight mark.

It has added another big talking point to an already intriguing fight.

Spence made his name as a welterweight world champion, but there have been suggestions that making the lower limit had become increasingly difficult towards the end of his run in the division.

He has also been out of the ring for three years, so there will be plenty of interest in how he looks after such a long break.

Tszyu will be fighting at his heaviest weight in nine years, but his coach Jeff Fenech does not appear too concerned about giving the American the extra two pounds.

The Australian heads into the fight with 27 wins from 30 professional contests and has picked up two victories since his most recent world title defeat.

Spence holds a record of 28 wins and one loss, with 22 of those victories coming by knockout.

The supporting card is set to include Jermall Charlo against Koen Mazoudier, along with Stephen Fulton Jr. against Liam Wilson.

There has been some uncertainty around Charlo’s place on the card due to visa and travel issues, so the final line up may still change before fight night.

The card is due to begin at 11am Australian Eastern Standard Time on Sunday 26th July, which is 2am in the UK.
