In case you haven’t heard the exciting news already, we’re gearing up to launch our very own Gymfluencers energy drinks store where you’ll be able to buy your favourite energy drinks, including hard-to-find flavours from the US.
We like to think we know a thing or two about energy drinks around here, so it seemed like the obvious next step to create an online store where you can stock up on your faves and discover new, exciting brands and flavours too from the biggest energy drinks brands out there.
Everything You Need To Know About Energy Drinks
While we’re busy getting everything set up, here’s everything you need to know about energy drinks.
There are loads of different energy drinks on the market but they’re all designed to give you a caffeine kick and an energy boost. Some people drink them as a pre-workout, to power them through their gym session, and others enjoy them as a mid-afternoon pick me up instead of a cup of coffee.
Energy drinks are generally found alongside sports drinks in the shops but while sports drinks focus on hydration both during and after exercise, energy drinks contain a stimulant, normally caffeine, to give you a boost of energy before your workout or as a pick-me-up afterward.
How old do you have to be to buy energy drinks in the UK?
Despite what you might think there aren’t actually any laws around how old you have to be to buy energy drinks in the UK. But most shops and supermarkets brought in their own restrictions a few years ago and as a general rule, you have to be over 16 to buy them.
Prime Energy Drink
Prime has been causing a huge stir since it launched, thanks to the big names behind it. Former rivals Logan Paul and KSI have joined forces to create the energy drink that has gone down a storm and is selling out within minutes of shops restocking their shelves.
What’s particularly interesting about it is that Prime isn’t technically an energy drink, because it doesn’t contain any caffeine.
It’s actually a sports drink, made with 10% coconut water, BCAAs, antioxidants, and electrolytes, with no added sugar.
Prime comes in seven different flavours from your standard Orange and Blue Raspberry to the more intriguing-sounding Meta Moon.
Furocity Energy Drink
Unlike Prime, there’s no confusion over whether or not this drink from Tyson Fury is an energy drink. Furocity was created by the boxer to help you hit your day hard, with 157mg of caffeine which is about the same as two cups of instant coffee.
Furocity is also packed with B vitamins and taurine for a real boost in energy and focus, and each 500ml bottle has 22g of sugar and 88 calories.
It comes in four different flavours – Original, Black and Blue Raspberry, Sour Apple Punch, and Sour Cherry Knockout which are all completely on brand for Fury, and his aim for this drink is to pack a flavour punch as well as help you hit your day hard.
Fury has also released a sugar-free version of the drinks which are available in Original and Black and Blue Raspberry flavours. This version still has 157mg of caffeine but it uses Sucralose as a sweetener so the drink is sugar free and calorie free.
Zoa Energy Drink
Zoa energy drinks are one of the lesser known energy drinks in the UK, and it’s a bit harder to come by over here than in the US.
It first hit the shelves in America in March 2021 and has been a big hit with people looking for a more natural alternative to a lot of the other energy drinks on the market.
The brand was co-founded by Dwayne Johnson and a group of fitness experts who all brought their own areas of expertise to the creation of their clean and healthy energy drinks.
Zoa drinks are packed with vitamin C and antioxidants from Camu Camu for an immune system boost, as well as a whole host of B vitamins for mental and physical focus. They also have amino acids to support muscle growth, electrolytes for hydration, and choline to support your metabolism.
And let’s not forget the caffeine, the all-important ingredient for that energy boost. Zoa uses clean caffeine from green tea and green, unroasted coffee beans for a more natural, long-lasting kick.
Zoa zero sugar comes in 12oz and 16oz cans in a range of fruity flavours including wild orange, white peach, and super berry. The 12oz cans have 120mg of caffeine and there’s 160mg in the 16oz cans.
If you want even more of a boost to get you going before hitting the gym then Zoa also have an amazing pre-workout energy drink with 200mg of natural caffeine plus vitamins, superfoods, and essential nutrients for focus, immunity, and energy.
If hearing all that talk about how good this stuff is has got you wondering where to buy Zoa energy drink in the UK then we have some good news and some bad news for you.
The bad news is that you can’t buy it directly from Zoa’s website at the moment, because they only ship to the US.
The good news is that you can buy it from some specialist sites here in the UK. And once we’re up and running you’ll be able to buy it from our Gymfluencers energy drink store.

And they’re so much more than just a quick way to get a caffeine hit these days, with formulations packed with vitamins and nutrients to boost your immune system, help you focus, and generally give you a helping hand to power through a workout or stop an afternoon slump in its tracks.
