Who is Phantom from Gladiators?
Phantom, whose real name is Toby Olubi, is a British bobsledding champion. Born September 24, 1987, he earned his Bachelor in Economics and Politics from Brunel University London between 2006 and 2011. He became a bobsleigh athlete in 2013 at the British Bobsleigh and Skeleton Association, smashing the minimum requirements in his very first training.
As a bobsleigh athlete, Toby has accomplished great feats. He was a part of the team GB at the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics. In that same season, he was part of the team that broke the record for the fastest bobsleigh ever at 97mph. For four years in a row (2015-2019), he was the fastest Bobsledder in the UK championship. He was also a part of the history-making team that won Great Britain’s first-ever gold medal in the 2018 Whistler World Cup.
Alongside his Bobsleigh achievements, he has also had some level of success as a sprinter, winning the UK men’s 60m sprints county championship and participating in the British men’s 100m sprint Olympic qualifying championships. He was the former Brand Partnership Manager at Badminton England and the former team GB wellbeing manager for The British Olympic Association.
