Gymshark Onyx Is Making a Long-Awaited Return – Here’s What You Need to Know

Gymshark Onyx Emerges From The Shadows Following Five-Year Hiatus

After years of whispers, wishful thinking, and way too many “when’s it coming back?” comments, the moment we’ve all been waiting for is finally here – Gymshark Onyx is officially returning for its fifth iteration.

Skin-tight, sculpting, and irritatingly exclusive, this iconic collection didn’t just sell out – it sparked a full-blown fitness fashion frenzy. And now? It’s ready for a comeback tour, and your wardrobe should be front row.

Whether you missed out the first time or wore your OG pieces into the ground, consider this your official heads-up to move fast.

Because if history’s anything to go by, Onyx won’t be hanging around for long. Here’s everything you need to know about what’s undoudtedly the hottest drop of 2025 so far.

What Is the Gymshark Onyx Collection?

In case you missed it, Gymshark Onyx is a range of compression-fit tops that make muscles bulge and people lose their minds.

The original drops were limited-edition and harder to get hold of than a snowflake in July. So much so, those who did manage to snag a piece wore it like a badge of honour.

Judging by the way Gymshark is building hype for V5, don’t expect it to be much easier this time around.

The brand has leaned hard into a Batman Returns vibe for this long-awaited launch – and it tracks, considering the gear looks straight out of a DC origin story.

To mark the comeback, Gymshark – co-founded by the UK’s youngest billionaire, Ben Francis – has assembled its own superhero squad of fitness influencers.

David Laid, James Beardwell, Sawyer Klatt, and Swole Ricketts all showed up for an exclusive NYC pop-up on May 3.

A second early-access event hits Gymshark’s flagship Regent Street store in London the day before the global launch on May 7.

Tickets? Already gone. A clear sign of just how wild the demand is for this drop.

Influencer legends like Matt Morsia and Jesse James West have also been channeling their inner Christian Bale, showing off their custom Gymshark Onyx packages ahead of launch.

So if May 8 doesn’t go your way? Maybe it’s time to rack up a few million followers and slide into Gymshark’s DMs…

What We Know About Gymshark Onyx V5 So Far

The Onyx collection is set to be a triple-threat of physique-shaping tops:

  • Gymshark Onyx 5.0 Short Sleeve Top – £45
  • Gymshark Onyx 5.0 Tank Top – £40
  • Gymshark Onyx 5.0 Long Sleeve Top – £50

Expect the signature risen rubber logo, bulletproof-looking textured material, and three slick colourways: Onyx Grey, Carmine Red, and the iconic Brand Blue – which was like gold dust in the last Onyx drop.

Gymshark recommends sizing down for a true compression fit, so take note if you make it to checkout. You may not get that chance again.

Onyx V5 drops at 7PM BST on May 8. Set your alarms, double scoop the pre, and get ready to earn that kit. One thing’s for sure: pumps won’t ever be the same again.
