Learn the Format
The first thing you need to do is learn and understand the format of the HYROX competition. Without going into too much detail here, it basically involves running for 8km and completing 8 overall functional workouts. These workout stations include sled pushes, rowing, and sandbag lunges.
Train To Become A HYROX Competitor
You can train at home by joining a local HYROX training club or through a digital fitness app. HYROX training clubs give you access to the right tools and equipment and exclusive benefits like discounts. You can also have a dedicated HYROX trainer prepare you for the event.
Sign Up
The next step is to sign up for the competition in your region. You can sign up for multiple categories depending on your skills and experience. They include four divisions:
- Open Division: This is great for beginners. You can compete against other HYROX enthusiasts in a challenging yet doable race.
- Pro (Doubles) Division: It is ideal for experienced HYROX racers who want an exciting experience.
- Doubles Division: You can get a HYROX partner and carry out the challenge together. You can run together but will have to split the exercises.
