James Smith Reveals YouTube earnings & Surpasses 100K Subscribers

Sharpe-tongued personal trainer James Smith has revealed his YouTube earnings and pledged to use the money to reward his fans after smashing the 100,000 subscribers barrier.

Often described as the Gordon Ramsey or the fitness world for his expletive-laden rants, Smith recently upped his content output on the platform.

And after enjoying a record week, which saw him amass 1m views, he’s shared how much he has received from YouTube bosses in return.

Speaking on his channel, he said: “The way YouTube monetisation works is that you get served a very short advert before this video, and they (the company) pay YouTube for that advertising space. So, I get a little cut of that.

“I think that’s great for creators, who get rewarded for their efforts. But the reason I’m making such a big fuss about it is this is the first time I’ve ever been paid by a social media company.”

Smith, who has 1.7m followers on TikTok and 1.1m more on Instagram, shockingly revealed he hasn’t received a penny from either platform.

“When you think about it, I work for these social media companies in some respects,” he added.

“I give them content they can put on their platform to get people on there so they can earn money off the revenue. And out of it they just give me a little bit of engagement. The bastards have got me by the balls.”

So, how much was his first-ever social media paycheck worth? For 1m views, the Brit, who now lives in Australia, received £1,499.22.

In typical James Smith fashion, he said that instead of being a “pr*ck” like controversial TikTok star HStikkytokky and boasting about his earnings, he would instead be buying fans a few presents as a token of his appreciation.

He continued: “How about you use the comments below and tell me what you would like bought for you and why, and I’ll pick out at random some of the coolest requests.”

Viewers have until April 12 to try and get themselves some goodies. Head over to Smith’s YouTube channel to be in with a chance.
