Jay Swingler Retires From YouTuber Boxing

Jay Swingler has officially announced his retirement from YouTube boxing, leaving behind a legacy of epic brawls.

The YouTuber said while he’ll be “forever grateful” to the influencer boxing scene, it’s time for him to return to posting videos and reconnecting with his audience.

Swingler shot to fame in 2012 after starting TGFbro with fellow content creator Romell Henry and became known for extreme pranks and stunts that would often see him left cut, bruised, and battered.

He first put on the gloves in 2018, losing to AnEsonGib by unanimous decision on the undercard of online giants KSI vs Logan Paul.

However, his next two bouts returned much more positive results. He picked up wins against Cherdleys, and more recently NichLmao following a tight encounter.

That, as it later transpired, was to be his last time in the ring.

In a statement posted on Twitter, he said: “The influencer boxing stuff was fun while it lasted and it really did affect my life in such a positive way, I learnt & gained so much from taking part in it all, and I’ll forever be grateful for Misfits Boxing.

“I’m where I’m meant to be, and doing what I’m meant to be doing right now which is making content and I feel at peace doing it full time again, it’s who I truly am at heart, a content creator

“I’ve turned my focus away from influencer boxing to focus back on doing what put me in this position in the first place, which is making content and connecting with my audience.

“I realised when I was boxing, it was like I put all my eggs in one basket and that really hurts me to think about looking back on it. I abandoned the platform that made me, and now it’s time for me to focus on making solid content again and being the best creator I can possibly be, it’s truly what I live for.”

He continued: “I appreciate you guys supporting me on my boxing journey, I felt so much love walking out to those fights, I’ll never forget it, man.

“I feel at peace knowing I get to sit back and watch these fights as a fan again and I’m soooo excited to see all the events unfold throughout the year.

“Wasn’t even gonna put anything out to announce this kind of thing but I’d rather let you know rather than leave you in the dark

“P.S. – if you’re an influencer boxer reading this, don’t fuck it up, and remember why you get to box in front of thousands of people in the first place, stay connected and consider your fans that are craving your content.”
