Joe Burrow Injury – Everything you need to know

The Cincinnati Bengals have been without their star quarterback since he picked a season-ending injury in November. Joe Burrow tore a ligament in his wrist in the Bengals’ loss to the Baltimore Ravens on November 16, as confirmed by an MRI scan the following morning.

The quarterback hadn’t experienced any injury prior to the game, but he appeared to be in significant pain in his final play and was withdrawn after playing a 4-yard pass. As is consistent with torn ligaments, Burrow was set to miss the rest of the season, and his recovery seems to be progressing as expected.

He underwent surgery on the torn ligaments about a week later, ending any possibility of featuring before mid-year in 2024. Following his rehab schedule, Burrow was already lifting by March, and sources around the club confirmed that Burrow has been throwing since then. He has also been working on his deep balls ever since and joined team training too. The club posted a video of his throwing practice early in May, much to the delight of the fans.

Joe Burrow is signed to a five-year contract, starting last September, worth about $275 million, making him the highest-paid NFL player in history. Apparently, for the Bengals to repeat their back-to-back AFC Championship qualifications and mount a Super Bowl-contending run, Burrow will need to be injury-free for the next season
