Joe Wicks, AKA The Body Coach, has really made a name for himself in the world of health and fitness over the last few years. With his best-selling cookbooks and super popular online workouts, he’s helped millions of people get fit and eat better. When it comes to healthy snacks to help us refuel after a workout, one of our go-to recipes is the Joe Wick overnight oats. They’re so simple to make, they taste fantastic, and they’re brilliant to make ahead of time.
Joe Wicks Overnight Oats
Joe shared the recipe for his chocolate orange overnight oats on Insta and YouTube Shorts, so he doesn’t give exact measurements. But the snack is easy enough to eyeball, with overnight oats generally being quite forgiving anyway. The one thing he points out though is that you want the mixture to look a little bit wet when you put it together, as the oats will absorb the liquid overnight.
So what’s in Joe Wicks overnight oats? Here are the ingredients in the order that Joe chucks them in the bowl:
- Porridge oats
- Cacao powder
- A squeeze of honey
- Greek yoghurt
- Almond milk
- Orange zest
- Juice of 1 orange
All you do is mix all the ingredients together and then pop the whole thing in the fridge overnight. Then you can top the oats with a bit of dark chocolate if you want, to make it a bit more of a treat.
These overnight oats make a great, quick breakfast, but we really love them as a post-workout snack. They’re especially good when you take Joe’s advice and add in a scoop of protein powder to really up the protein content.
