Fitness mogul and influencer extraordinaire Krissy Cela just brought us all to tears.
The founder of OnerActive delivered an impassioned speech after visiting the future headquarters of her sustainable activewear brand.
Cela, who arrived in the UK on the back of a banana lorry when she was just 4 years old, seemed to experience a moment of overwhelming gratitude as she stood in the 10,000-square-foot office in London.
Originally from Albania, the empowering icon watched her mum work 3 jobs and her dad do nightly shifts as an HGV lorry driver to make ends meet as she was growing up.
However, after forming an army of followers in the millions and scaling several successful business ventures, life today couldn’t be more contrasting from the experiences of her youth.
Posting on social media, Krissy Cela said: “I never thought in a million years I’d be standing in a 10,000 square foot office that will soon be the OnerActive HQ. I didn’t think it would be possible for a refugee like me who came from the back of a banana lorry with her family.
“Immigrating to the UK with a family that truly came from nothing, learning a new language, a new culture and trying to adapt was not easy. I just never ever thought it would be possible to even pass my exams let alone start a company with amazing confound and build an incredible team.
“From stepping foot into a gym 10 years ago and lifting that first dumbbell to now being able to create products, a vision and a strong mission in helping empower women every single rep at a time whilst wearing OnerActive is the most surreal feeling in the world.
“A new chapter is about to start for the OA team and community. We cannot wait to make a global change to ALL women in fitness. This is just the start.
“So, thank you everyone for choosing to support ONER, what we do…. We will always do with purpose.”
