A camera angle can change everything.
Fans in the OVO Wembley Arena were left stunned after KSI brutally knocked out professional boxer Joe Fournier on Saturday night.
The 40-year-old lay flat on the canvas following what, at first glance, appeared to be a huge overhand right from the YouTuber.
However, it took seconds for the statement win to be marred in controversy as replays showed the killer shot was actually an illegal elbow.
PRIME’s co-owner was dominating the fight up until that moment, with his speed and aggression proving too much for Fournier in the opening stages.
But even so, many fans and pundits believe the bout should now be marked as a ‘No Contest’. Nevertheless, the result remained and KSI moved to six wins and one draw in the ring.
He insisted it was a fair blow when quizzed by DAZN after the fight.
He said: “I hit him with a massive shot and he was dazed, he was scrambling trying to hold onto me for dear life.
“I was like, ‘brother, nah, nah, nah. It’s D-Day. Your soul is mine.’”
Unsurprisingly, his opponent had differing views. Fournier has since demanded that KSI be disqualified and called for a rematch.
He said: “I felt the elbow. I saw the punch go past my face and then he hits me with an elbow… Literally, I felt bone. I thought it was either a head butt or an elbow.”
KSI faced off with Tommy Fury in the ring afterwards amid talks the pair are due to agree terms for a blockbuster clash.
“I wanna do this, do what Jake Paul couldn’t and knock you out,” KSI said.
Fury, 24, replied: “That’s never, ever gonna happen. All I can say is, sign me up. Easy money, easy money.
“You are going to sleep in four rounds. Four rounds, asleep.
“Gung ho, no defence, no head movement. Knocked out.”
Asked whether he should be allowed to run it back with KSI before that meeting takes place, Fournier added: “Of course, you should run it back. That’s ********. He should be disqualified, that should go down as a loss.
“You can’t walk up to someone in boxing and elbow them. It’s not Muay Thai, it’s not MMA.”
KSI’s arch nemesis Jake Paul has also called for KSI to be retrospectively disqualified. He wrote on Twitter: “I respect boxing too much to respect what that was.
“If that was indeed a real boxing match it will be ruled a no contest or disqualification.”
Aside from the controversy of the main event, Anthony Taylor handed Salt Papi his first defeat by securing a split decision win, while KSI’s brother, Deji, comfortably overcame rapper Swarmz.
