Just 15 months after needing major surgery for a ruptured achilles tendon, Matt Morsia AKA MattDoesFitness has found himself needing to go under the knife again.
But don’t worry, this time round it’s just his little finger that needed fixing!
Saying that, this injury that he sustained a few months back while filming Gladiators was still pretty nasty.
Picture this: a bit of bone broke in his little finger and then did a nifty 180 spin. Oh yes, it did not want to go back where it should be, and as the weeks went by Matt’s finger went from crooked to, well, even more crooked!
Now, the initial prognosis actually wasn’t too dire. Matt’s surgeon believed it might resolve on its own seeing as the joint was ok, movement wasn’t too shabby, and the pain was manageable. But over time things went downhill and the decision was made to fix it with surgery.
Luckily for us, Matt took his 2.2 million YouTube followers along for the ride as he headed into London to the hospital. He gave us a peek into the pre-surgery checks and his consultation with his surgeon who talked him through what they would be doing. But the real showstopper? Matt vlogged the whole surgery!
That’s right, he was awake at the start, watching the doctors do their thing, until things started to get uncomfortable and he was sent on a sweet sedative journey into dreamland while Fabien kept on filming.
And folks, let me tell you, it’s worth watching the video just to see Matt loopy from the sedation after the surgery. It’s amazing to see Matt still has his sense of humour and brilliant banter even when he’s totally spaced out!
Here’s hoping he has a speedy recovery and is back to full strength soon.
