Muscle Food Reviews: New Year’s Biggest Hamper

Back in the day, I used to downright refuse to do a major grocery haul because the thought of that checkout total made me cringe. £80? I could list a bunch of things I’d rather splash that cash on.

I’ll admit, my approach was pretty backward. Instead of facing the music and stocking up for a few weeks, I ended up shelling out more on smaller, frequent trips.

I’m guessing there are plenty of you still rocking the meal-to-meal shopping vibe for the same reason. Let’s be real, it makes even less sense for us gym rats.

I mean, come on. When you’re tearing through kilograms of meat to power those gains, bulk buying is practically a survival tactic.

And let’s be real, it’s even more crucial if you’re gearing up for a summer shred and need to pack on some serious mass.

With that in mind, I emptied the chest freezer of Chicago Town pizzas and various other beige bites ready for Muscle Food’s mighty Savvy Saving Hamper

Vegans, this is your trigger warning it’s about to get meaty. Here’s how I got on.

A Package Fit For A King (Or Queen)

When I told you I cleared out my chest freezer ready for this delivery, I wasn’t joking. This anabolic care package could fill a butcher’s window twice over.

Let me break down what’s included:

  • 5kg of Premium Chicken Breasts
  • Four 200g Uruguayan Steaks
  • 800g of Extra Lean Beef Steak Mince
  • Four 114g Beef Steak Burgers
  • 20 Low Fat Unsmoked Bacon Medallions
  • 24 Lean Pork Sausages
  • A 450g rack of BBQ Pork Ribs
  • 1kg of BBQ Chicken Drumsticks
  • 350g of Seasoned Beef Meatballs
  • A 1kg Unsmoked Gammon Joint

And, to top it all off, Muscle Food’s brand-new Stonebaked Pepperoni Pizza. That’s a serious amount of protein.

I get it, you’re probably wondering, ‘What’s the damage on all that?’ Individually, you’d be forking over £100, but snag the whole bundle, and it’s a steal at just £69 when you apply code NY-SAVER at the checkout.

The true challenge, in my book, is seeing how that figure stacks up against the supermarkets – I mean, that’s where we all do our shopping, right?

Unsurprisingly, Aldi is the closet in price at £78.39 (almost £10 more expensive). From there, the cost spikes to just short of £90 at Tesco and Asda.

And if you were to pick up a similar haul from Iceland you would have to part ways with a wallet-busting £103.70. Ouch!

Quality Or Quantity?

We all love a steal, but when push comes to shove we don’t want to compromise on quality. After all, there’s no point in stacking your freezer with chicken breasts and bacon that have been pumped full with water, or steaks that better resemble shoe leather.

There’s absolutely no danger of that with this Muscle Food bundle. Admittedly, I haven’t made my way through half of this Savvy stash, but what I have chomped through has been absolutely delicious.

Those chicken breasts are colossal and well-trimmed, and one is more than enough for a generous feed. The burgers have been juicy, and the ribs were so good that I demolished the whole rack on my own.

One of my favourite things about this bundle is that some of it, like the ribs and chicken, come pre-coated.

When I’m in the mood to cook I’ll throw together my own concoctions with the beef mince and chicken, but when I’m feeling lazy it’s good to know there are high-protein options I can chuck straight into the trusty air fryer. The pizza makes for the perfect little cheat meal, too.

To be honest, there’s not a whole lot more to add besides emphasizing what a fantastic deal this is. Top-notch meat delivered chilled to your doorstep, ensuring you’re stocked up for weeks. What more could you ask for?

And hey, if you’re either eating for two or catering to a whole squad of gym enthusiasts, this package is the ultimate money-saver.

Judging by some of the reviews on Muscle Food’s site it seems I’m not the only one waxing lyrical about this hamper.

So, if you’re keen on stocking up with some serious muscle fuel, I’d recommend making a move sooner rather than later.

Don’t forget to use our Muscle Food code NY-SAVER to unlock this meaty deal.
