My Free Fitness First Baker Street Experience

Working out at home definitely has its charms, but there’s something undeniably motivating about the atmosphere at the gym that home workouts just can’t match. This realization really hit home with me recently when I got a chance to spend a day working out for free at Fitness First Baker Street. Fancy getting yourself a free day pass to try out a Fitness First gym too? All you need to do is find your local gym, fill in a few details and then you’re ready to check out everything it has to offer before deciding if a membership is the right fit for you.

The Fitness First that I tried out was their Baker Street gym, which is perfectly located just half a mile from Marylebone Station. I’d had a bit of a read on the website about the place, and it promised state-of-the-art equipment and a great range of fitness classes and facilities. As someone who’s always on the lookout for new fitness experiences, I was eager to see if it lived up to the hype.

I have to admit, from the moment I arrived I was impressed. There was a great energy in the air and a real sense of community that you can feel as soon as you walk in. I was made to feel welcome straight away by the staff who greeted me, and then I was given a personal tour to check out everything the place has to offer.

Club Tour: Baker Street

Fitness First Baker Street really does have an impressive range of facilities, but what really caught my eye was the 17m swimming pool – a rarity in central London gyms. I don’t normally get to swim all that often, so knowing I could mix up my workout routine with a few lengths of this pool now and then is a real incentive to sign up for a full membership!

One of the first areas I explored after my tour was the cardio space. With an array of equipment, including 20 treadmills, 12 bikes, 8 crosstrainers, 8 rowers, and even 2 stair climbers, it’s a haven for anyone looking to get their heart racing. I love the fact that you can really mix up your workout here, picking different machines to get your cardio fix without getting stuck in a rut of doing the same thing each week.

The personal training sessions available are also a great touch for those who, like me, sometimes need that extra push to power through their workout routines. The expert trainers around the gym were friendly and approachable, offering tips and advice even to someone just there for the day.

But the real game-changer for me were the group exercise sessions. With a range of different classes including Yoga, Spin, Pilates, Bodypump, and Trax, there’s something for everyone. I decided to try something new and joined a Rox class. Described as a combination of running and boxing, Rox is exclusive to Fitness First. It’s a high-energy workout with fantastic music, and it definitely lived up to its promise of being a stress-buster. The competitive but supportive atmosphere in the class was invigorating, making the workout feel more like a fun group activity than a fitness session.

Swimming was next on my list, I mean, I had to properly check out that pool right?! As someone who appreciates swimming as a low-impact yet effective workout, but doesn’t get to enjoy as much as I’d like, it was the perfect reminder of how swimming can be a great way to work out the entire body.

After some intense workouts, it was time to wind down, and what better way than with the sauna and steam room. These facilities, coupled with the towel service and free Wi-Fi, made my experience not just about fitness but also relaxation and recovery.

Fitness First Baker Street is the perfect gym for anyone looking to work on their fitness and take care of themselves. Whether it’s strength training, cardio, group classes, or even a leisurely swim, this place has it all. The diverse range of facilities and classes, along with the expert guidance available, makes it an ideal place for anyone looking to take their fitness journey to the next level.

If you’d like to try a Fitness First for yourself then make sure to take advantage of this offer for a free day pass so you can give it a go before committing to a membership.
