Per4m Caramel Biscuit: GOAT or gimmick?

When it comes to supplements, there is no topic more hotly debated than this:

“Which protein powder is the true GOAT and which flavour should I get it in?”

Over the past few years, numerous brands have upped their game with innovative flavours and formulations coming in thick and fast. One contender which has recently seen a boom in popularity, Per4m, has certainly got an impressive line-up with its double chocolate brownie, cinnamon donut and blueberry muffin whey proteins all holding a special place in people’s heart.

PER4M Whey: Fan favourites

Whilst we’re yet to find a flavour of Per4M’s bestselling whey that doesn’t hit the mark, in our opinion it’s the newer releases, white chocolate hazelnut (bueno) and carrot cake which truly set the brand apart. Seductively sweet and with scarily accurate flavour profiles, we just can’t get enough and are still in awe of how they can turn a morning bowl of oats into a mouth-watering dessert.

It’s safe to say, therefore, that we were more than a little excited to try their latest innovation. No, not the killer combo of Chocolate Orange, another flavour which has just been released by the brand. We’re talking about its new Caramel Biscuit, which, according to the company, tastes just like everyone’s favourite biccy-based spread.

Per4m

So, what was the verdict? Did the new creation live up to Per4m’s stellar reputation and, more importantly, did it steal carrot cake’s crown?

For me, it was a resounding YES!

The spiced aroma hits your nose immediately upon opening the tub, an experience which is recreated the moment this protein hits your mouth. The subtly sweet cinnamon notes shortly follow the initial punch – a pleasant but not overly powerful flavour like we’ve found in some the snickerdoodle and speculoos variations released by other popular brands.

The browned butter biscuit flavour is spot on, tastes great in water alone and is enhanced by the addition of milk. Of course, given this is Per4m we’re talking about, adding the protein to oats or yoghurt is where the product truly shines, the combination of the whey with milk proteins creating a creamy bowl of delight.

If you want to try the product for yourself, don’t hang around, the protein’s selling out fast with ravenous fans eagerly awaiting each restock.  If you do manage to get your hands on some, we’d love to know what you think! Is it your new GOAT or just another gimmick jumping on the Biscoff bandwagon?

TL;DR

Flavour: 10/10

Texture: 10/10

Macros: 8/10Overall: 9.5/10 – GOAT
