Prime Hydration, the brainchild of YouTube personalities and boxers Logan Paul and KSI, has no doubt taken the fitness world by storm. The sports drink, which has enjoyed fame since its launch, is, however, no stranger to controversy. A more recent one involved famous boxer Ryan Garcia. This controversy has sadly led to Prime Hydration suing Ryan Garcia.
Garcia, a high-profile athlete and boxer, allegedly damaged the brand with a series of social media posts. In one such post, he claimed that drinking Prime resulted in a positive test for performance-enhancing drugs.
Taking these accusations seriously, Prime Hydration has opted for a strong response, filing a lawsuit against Garcia.
Why is Prime Hydration Suing Ryan Garcia?
If you’re wondering why Logan Paul and KSI went as far as suing Garcia, the next few sentences will do justice to your question. Maybe you could judge if Logan and KSI were overreacting by filing a lawsuit as many claim.
As we stated earlier, Garcia claims Prime Hydration drink was the reason he tested positive for PED. He didn’t stop there, he also said kids should stay away from Prime drinks because they contain an unhealthy amount of caffeine. According to Garcia’s claim, Prime contains the equivalent of three cups of coffee and could harm kids.
In yet another recent X post, Garcia blasted Logan, although he praised his younger brother, Jake Paul. The pos, which says, “If you follow Logan Paul, you hating on kids for real. That’s sad asf. Jake is cool though. No cap.”, has over 960 thousand views on the social media platform since it was posted on May 23rd.
In a short YouTube video, Garcia also called out Logan and his partner KSI, with different derogatory names. In the video, he didn’t only say Prime drinks contain horrible chemicals and taste bad, he also said anyone drinking Prime is working for and empowering Satan.
According to him, he would rather drink Coca-Cola than drink Prime because Prime can kill the brain and destroy the liver. He mentioned that it doesn’t make sense that Prime tastes really sweet even though they claimed it contains no sugar.
Prime’s Legal Actions Against Ryan Garcia
Logan and his team couldn’t keep quiet about Ryan’s accusations and defamation. They immediately took legal action against the 25-year-old Boxer.
In an X post, Logan stated that Prime is under attack, and he has spent the last couple of months dismantling ridiculous claims about the brand. According to him, the following are some of the reasons the brand is being attacked:
- Prime is a threat to competitors because the brand is the most disruptive beverage in history.
- To gain views and attention
- People don’t like him and his partner, KSI.
In the same post, Logan stated the following facts about Prime Hydration:
- Prime Hydration is a better alternative to coconut water
- It contains over 800 mg of electrolytes, B vitamins, BCAAs, 25 calories, and 2 grams of sugar
- They adhere to regulatory bodies
- They use world-class facilities
- Their beverage is second to none.
Prime Hydration is suing Ryan Garcia in an attempt to fight back. Prime is suing Garcia for defamation, trade libel, violations of the Lanham Act, unfair competition, and unjust enrichment.
Logan Paul has declared that everyone damaging the brand for attention will be held accountable, while they continue to change the world of hydration with their bold flavours and creative innovation.
How will the matter unfold? We’ll just have to wait and find out.
