Cereal is a delicious way to start the day and has been a household favourite for decades! However, if you’re on a health-kick, the beloved breakfast food might not fit into your macros. Luckily, Surreal has come up with a solution that allows anyone to keep eating their favourite breakfast food, even if you’re on a diet!
Surreal has launched a range of healthy breakfast cereals that are protein-packed, high-fibre and delicious. The cereal provides you with all of the nutrients that you need without skimping on taste!
What makes Surreal so great?
Surrea cereals come in 4 delicious flavours to suit everyone’s taste buds. You can choose from cocoa, cinamon, frosted, peanut butter or purchase a variety pack and sample all four. All four flavours provide 13 grams of plant-based protein per portion, zero-sugar, only 5 net grams of carbs and high fibre!
Furthermore, Surreal is both vegans and gluten free! This means that almost everyone can indulge in the scrumptious breakfast treat and hit their macros whilst enjoying their favourite childhood cereal.

The Surreal variety pack
I ordered the Surreal variety pack to see for myself what the hype was about. When the boxes arrived, I was initially impressed by the packaging and the appearance of the boxes.
The variety pack comes with four full-size boxes of each flavour that Surreal has to offer. It’s an excellent choice for anyone who can’t decide between the delicious flavours plus you get to try them all!
It is worth noting that the portions of cereal are fairly small. For this reason, I would personally have the cereal as a snack rather than as a breakfast. All four flavours are ring-shaped cereals, similar to Cheerios.
Surreal Frosted Cereal
If you loved eating Frosties as a kid, this might be the flavour for you! The frosted cereal is Surreal’s healthy take on the beloved breakfast treat. Every bowl comes with 13 grams of protein and is completely sugar free! However, the cereal is still deliciously sweet and is a great way to start the day. The texture is light and easy to eat although it is slightly powdery. Nevertheless, it still tastes great!
Surreal Cocoa Cereal
The cocoa cereal is a chocolate flavoured cereal that is very popular with Surreal customers. The cereal is similar to coco-pops and has the same light texture and chocolate flavour. However, this take comes in ring-shaped cereals instead of the original rice puffs.
In my opinion, the cocoa flavoured cereal is great as a night time snack or a pick me up during the day. However, it would also be the perfect start to the morning for any chocoholics out there!
Surreal Peanut butter Cereal
The peanut butter flavoured cereal was slightly less sweet than the other flavours making it a great option for anyone who prefers savoury. This flavour is different from anything you might find on the supermarket shelves but it certainly doesn’t disappoint! I would recommend mixing together the peanut butter cereal with the cocoa cereal- you can even buy a mixed pack specifically for this.
Surreal Cinnamon Cereal
This cereal has a subtle cinnamon flavour that will add some spice to your morning and makes a nice change from the sweeter alternatives. The cinnamon flavour also tastes very nice when mixed with the cocoa cereal and is delicious as an afternoon snack!
The verdict
My favourite flavour was the cinnamon as it was subtle but still sweet. Surreal cereals are a good option for anyone who wants to hit their macros whilst still enjoying their childhood favourite cereals.
If you subscribe to Surreal, each bowl costs just 77p! That’s an extra 13 grams of protein every day for less than £1. In my opinion this is a great breakfast option for anyone who wants to hit their macros and enjoy a childhood favourite.
