Fans of Rob Lipsett will have noticed he switched up his training programme recently.
The ever-smiling Irish star ditched his usual bro split to take on the ultimate fitness challenge: HYROX Malaga.
Paired up with fellow influencer MERIJN, Rob was one of several athletes who put their mettle to the test in what was the third annual edition of the race in the Andalusian city.

Competing in the doubles category, Rob and MERIJN finished HYROX Malaga with a more than respectable time of 1:18:38.
The duo’s result is all the more impressive considering that HYROX Malaga was Rob’s first-ever HYROX event.
Speaking on his Instagram after returning to weight training, Rob said: “It’s my first day back following a bodybuilding programme, and I have to say, it feels pretty good to get some nice pump work in.
“For the next two weeks, I’m going to treat myself to a super bro split with really high volume—just what I’m used to.
“Thank you so much for all the kind words about the HYROX. I really, really enjoyed it, and I’ll 100% be doing it again.
“There’s nothing better than working towards something and then, the day it pays off, it’s just the best feeling ever. Be it in business, bodybuilding, or HYROX, whatever it is. So, today, I’m just on cloud nine.”
What Is HYROX Malaga?
Dubbed the ultimate fitness race format, HYROX consists of eight functional exercises, each separated by an intense 1km run.
The stations include a mix of lactic-acid-inducing movements such as the SkiErg, Sled Push and Pull, Farmers Carry, Burpee Broad Jumps, and Wall Balls.
The race can be completed solo or in pairs, with teammates splitting the stations between one another.
HYROX has seen a massive surge in global popularity over the past year, with events held all over the world, including at HYROX Malaga.
