After packing his bags and embarking on a journey to find a soulmate, or at least someone to split the £50,000 winnings with, Sam Taylor’s Love Island journey lasted all of two days.
The arrival of reality TV star Joey Essex saw the hair stylist booted off in brutal fashion as producers let rip one of their classic twists early on.
Joey, 33, swooped in and stole fellow islander Samantha Kenny from under the tattooed hunk’s nose, leaving him outside of a couple and on the first flight back to England.
While Sam Taylor’s Love Island experience may have been short and sweet, people still want to know more about the man with the mullet.

I’d like to say it was purely the age gap that prompted the Liverpudlian to swap Sam for former TOWIE icon Joey Essex, but as the first high-profile celebrity inclusion in the show’s history, he is stiff competition for any islander.

Hailing from Chesterfield, Sam now plies his trade as a stylist in Lodge Moor, Sheffield—hence the mullet. After exiting the villa and waiting for the dust to settle, he popped into the salon to surprise his workmates.
Before appearing on the show, Sam said he hoped his job could be his ‘secret weapon’ as he could get close to the girls while doing their hair. Sadly, he didn’t have time for so much as a bouncy blow-dry.
Will Sam Taylor Be Returning To Love Island?
Plenty of viewers quickly warmed to Sam, and there was uproar when he was forced off the show without a second chance after just a couple of short days.
However, the 23-year-old has left a couple of small breadcrumbs of hope that he may yet return to our screens. Internet detectives were already hot on the case after the Brit said ‘see you soon’ to his co-stars while bidding farewell.
He later posted a selfie of himself and Joey Essex with some cheeky side-eye emojis to fuel the already raging fire.
If Sam did re-enter the villa, he would be following in the footsteps of Molly Marsh, who was dumped from last year’s show before making a comeback for Casa Amor.
While he is clearly back on UK soil, it could all be smoke and mirrors for an epic return. After all, Mallorca is only a short flight away.
