The Scented Soap Comeback You Didn’t See Coming
Soap has very much been left behind in modern shower routines. Once a scrubbing staple, it’s now considered a bit old hat.
Spotting a bar on your friend’s bathroom shelf feels like watching someone put in a VHS instead of streaming on Netflix — retro, but not necessarily in a good way.
What caused our once-beloved bars to fall out of favour? Sludgy soap dishes, slippery hands, and squishy regrets, to name a few.
But the launch of Bob’s latest soap is a timely reminder that hard bars are making a comeback — though not quite as you’ve seen them before.
The Morning Man arrives as a zesty follow-up to Bob’s first offering: The Gentlemen.
An energising blend of peppermint and lime, The Morning Man is the first scented soap to feature in the world’s first hard refillable body wash bar.
Here’s how Bob is fusing a touch of the old school with ingenious innovation — plus how you can save 10% on your first order using code GYMFLUENCERSAGENCY at checkout.
What is Bob?
As you might have guessed, Bob isn’t just another bar of soap. It’s a complete rethink of how we lather, and what we use to do it.
This 3-in-1 solution is made up of a trio of components, with the Bob bars (the soap) just one part of a brilliant puzzle.
Inside the starting Shower Pack, you’ll find:
- A reusable applicator complete with medical-grade exfoliating bristles, designed to lock the Bob bar in place, dispense the perfect amount of soap with every swirl, and deliver a cleanse your palms just aren’t built for.
- Two Bob bars (more on those shortly)
- A shower mount that keeps Bob suspended upside down, draining away liquid and suds to avoid the classic soap dish swamp.
Tested to withstand over 3,700 washes — that’s two showers a day for more than five years — the applicator ensures every last sud hits the target zone, rather than slipping through the cracks of your fingers.

The reusable design also challenges the throwaway culture of shower gel bottles, cutting unnecessary plastic from your bathroom shelf — and the landfill — in one fell swoop.
Instead, Bob arrives in recyclable cardboard packaging, doubling down on sustainability and providing a neat solution that impresses on every front.
The Scented Soap Saviour
Bob initially launched with The Gentleman — an unscented yet neutrally deodorising bar that earned rave reviews for its masculine subtlety.
But from the off, the bubbly trailblazer made no secret of its plan to follow up with a scented soap. That arrived in June courtesy of The Morning Man.
Announcing the newcomer, Bob co-founder Michael Brennan said: “Today we dropped the soap!
“We didn’t just drop any old soap, though. We dropped Bob’s first SCENTED refill bar.
“Welcome to the Morning Man. Fresh, zesty, and the perfect wake-up wash for the everyday Morning Man.
“Bob’s clean formulation, combined with peppermint and lime, moisturises, deodorises and cleanses your skin.
“A 3-in-1 solution, The Morning Man is approved to use on your body, face, and hair.
“It’s taken over 6 months to develop a body wash bar that not only is good for your skin, but also smells great too!”

Bob’s peppermint and lime scented soap bears all the same hallmarks as its predecessor.
It’s specifically pH-balanced at 5.5 to match men’s skin, approved for all your bits and bobs, and features skin-loving ingredients like beeswax, citric acid, shea butter, and coconut oil.
Meanwhile, harsh ingredients you’d typically find in scented soap bars — like sulphates, parabens, and aluminium — haven’t made the cut.
Once the bar’s finished, reloading your smarter scented soap is as simple as unclipping the applicator and slotting a new one in its place.
The whole process has been designed to wash away all the usual pain points associated with sub-par shower routines.
