Sidemen Miss First Sunday Upload In 4 Years Amid KSI Controversy

Fans of popular UK YouTube group The Sidemen were left disappointed after they failed to upload on a Sunday for the first time in 4 years.

This comes after KSI faced huge backlash for saying a racial slur in their most recent upload, which has since been taken down.

The rapper made the slur while they were playing a Countdown-style challenge. He later announced he was ‘taking a break’ from social media in a public apology to his followers.

“I wanna apologise for saying a racial slur in a recent Sidemen video,” the 29-year-old tweeted.

“There’s no excuse, no matter the circumstances, I shouldn’t have said it and I’m sorry. I’ve always said to my audience that they shouldn’t worship me or put me on a pedestal because I’m human. Im not perfect, I’m gonna mess up in life, and lately, I’ve been messing up a lot.

“So I’ve decided I’m gonna just take a break from social media for a while.”

The Sidemen also released their own apology, stating they were ‘truly ashamed’ of the incident. KSI has since been spotted visiting local faith leaders at the Al-Hikam Institute – a mosque in Bradford.

Fans had hoped that would signal the return of Sidemen Sundays and KSI alike, but Sunday came and went without an update or an upload on their main channel.

There was, however, content posted to MoreSidemen – another one of their channels.

And people have been fairly unified on whether or not their silence was the right decision.

One Twitter user wrote: “It might be the right choice, but at least inform us of that choice seeing as a lot of us are devoted fans that wait for Sidemen Sunday every single Sunday. That’s all I would ask for, a single tweet, that’s it.”

Another wrote: “No, they didn’t make the right choice. Also, they should’ve said something in a video on the issue.”
