The Protein Bar Created To Help You Focus Review

If you punch the words ‘protein bar’ into Google, literally millions of results will be at your fingertips in a matter of milliseconds. You can scroll through pages and pages of products, with every brand claiming to boast the best formula to fuel your progress.

But in reality, most are almost a carbon copy of the next. I mean, genuinely, what makes them any different from each other? In fact, I can already tell you the answer, perhaps a quirky flavour or two and the odd gram of sugar here and there.

It’s time to start demanding more from your snacks, and that’s why I’m delighted to introduce you to the Vitl Focus Bar. Designed to give you the perfect package of brains and brawn, this Vitl protein bar contains 5 vitamins and minerals that provide cognitive support when you most need it.

As somewhat of a protein bar aficionado I had to get my hands on this one as soon as it came onto my radar. In this article, I’m going to be giving you my honest review on what could be your new favourite snack.

If you aren’t familiar with Vitl, then now is a good time to acquaint yourself. As a brand, it believes there is no set formula to better health. Everyone is unique and has diverse needs, and that’s why Vitl offers personalised nutrition with tailor-made supplements and at-home nutrition tests.

Since branching out into the world of protein bars it has taken the same no-nonsense approach when it comes to the integrity of the ingredients it uses. Vitl goes the extra mile to source the most bioavailable form of each base nutrient to ensure maximum absorption and benefit.

And that leads us on nicely to the Focus Bar. As the control centre for everything we do, our brains need a little bit of love now and again. The Focus Bar promises to give you laser focus and set you up to tackle your to-do list.

So, what’s inside, and can a protein bar really improve your focus?

A quick scan of the label reveals some really promising signs. The first thing I noticed was the inclusion of Folic Acid and Vitamin B6. Both play a really important role in the production of Hemoglobin and healthy red blood cells which carry oxygen around your body. A Deficiency in either can leave you feeling flat, fatigued, and essentially no good to anyone.

Next, you’ve got the brain-boosting power couple of Zinc and Iron. Both play a hugely important role in cognitive function, but as you age the serum concentration of both decreases. A deficiency in either is closely related to cognitive impairment, memory impairment, and other diseases. Rounding off the vitamin and mineral mix is Iodine, which is essential for brain development and can help deter conditions such as anxiety and depression.

This is still a protein bar, of course, so we should probably take a look at the macros. Each 40g serving provides 14g of protein from a milk and soy blend, 5.5g of fat, 11g of carbs, less than 0.5g of sugar, 3.4g of fibre, and just 140 calories.

The Vitl Protein Bar Review

I’m going to kick off the review by circling around to something we haven’t really talked about – taste. The focus bar comes in Chocolate Brownie flavour, which Vitl describes as a rich, fudgy treat, enrobed in chocolate and sprinkled with a crispy topping.

After taking my first bite I’d have to say that’s a pretty accurate description. The texture was spot on, it was gooey in parts but still had enough crunch to give you something to think about. Every last morsel was an indulgence that certainly didn’t feel low-calorie and near sugar-free. I’ll give it a huge thumbs-up on that department.

As for the cognitive benefits of this bar, I really feel you have to incorporate it into your routine to get the maximum benefit. I did, and I can tell you now I feel all the better for it. I have breakfast, train in the mornings and knock one of these back afterwards, and I can honestly say I’ve been more productive for it.

As for the protein, it’s slightly lower than I’d usually expect from a protein bar. Around 20g seems to be the standard you come to expect. But when you trade off the additional benefits the Focus Bar brings to the table, are you really going to miss 6g of protein? If you’re eating well enough for the rest of your meals, the answer is no.

Plus, if you grab yourself a box of 15 bars from Vitl’s website you’re paying less than £2 for every serving. That’s a deal that’s not to be missed out on. Visit the Vitl website to grab yours today.
