It seems the mind games between Tommy Fury and KSI have already begun. The pair’s long-rumoured fight was all but confirmed this week as the focal point of a mouth-watering Misfits card that will also feature Logan Paul and Dillon Danis.
The promotion posted a four-pronged banner on Twitter revealing the hotly-anticipated 009 PRIME event will take place later this year on October 14.
But the banner did much more than confirm the date, it also contained four huge teasers that sent fans into overdrive.
Each leg of the MF & DAZN: X Series logo represented fighters who will be slogging it out in the main and co-main events.
The first two featured KSI’s infamous bandana and Fury’s name written in fire, while a Maverick feather and Jaguar pattern were used to unveil Paul and Danis.
And Fury wasted no time in sending a warning shot to his opponent as he smashed the record on a punching machine with a cutout of KSI’s face on it.
The 9-0 pro, who’s nicknamed ‘TNT’ for his explosive punch power, hammered the YouTuber’s mugshot with a booming right hook, sending the machine’s scale soaring to an eye-watering score of 948.
He even gave it a cheeky head-butt to add extra fuel to the already roaring fire.
Fury, who is the half-brother of heavyweight champion boxer, Tyson, overcame Jake Paul by split decision in his last bout, while KSI was stripped of a victory over Joe Fournier for an illegal ‘forearm’.
Both fighters are undefeated, with Misfits recently ranking Fury and KSI 1st and 3rd in the influencer boxing standings respectively.
Even if Jake Paul, who is currently nestled in 2nd, defeats MMA veteran Nate Diaz in their upcoming bout, the top spot will still go to whoever wins Fury and KSI’s showdown.
