We Tried Bob’s Body Wash And Exfoliator Set – Here’s Why It’s Worth the Hype

Yearning for a Deeper Cleanse? Stick Around for Our Honest Review of Bob’s Body Wash and Exfoliator Bundle

As a man with an incredibly skin-conscious partner, I’m no stranger to an exfoliating body wash. Her mission to modernise me has led to various improvements on the 58p shower gels I used to chuck in the shopping basket without much thought or care.

And while the benefits of an exfoliating scrub aren’t lost on me – I just can’t get on board with the texture. I mean, really? In what world is rubbing grainy lotion all over your skin supposed to be enjoyable?

I might as well go and roll in gravel.

Rather than reverting back to old habits and sparking a domestic cold war, I figured there had to be a happy middle ground.

That’s when I found Bob. No, Bob isn’t the man I ran off with for an easier life – he’s an all-in-one body wash and exfoliator set that handles everything from soap to scrub.

A natural fan of anything streamlined, I grabbed the starter bundle using code GYMFLUENCERSAGENCY for 10% off and hopped in the shower.

Here’s how it went.

What Is Bob?

Before I lift the shower curtain and reveal all, I should probably bring you up to speed on what – or who – Bob is.

Bob isn’t an exfoliating body wash as such, but he’s a triple threat that certainly has it in his arsenal. As the world’s first hard, refillable body wash bars, Bob is made up of three main parts:

  • Soap, fittingly named Bob Bars, that are specially formulated to match the pH of men’s skin (5.5)
  • A handheld applicator tested to withstand more than 3,700 washes, which houses and dispenses the Bob Bars
  • Exfoliating bristles for a cleanse your hands just aren’t built for

There’s also a shower mount in the mix, but we’ll get onto that in just a minute. Combined as one, these three elements had the makings of a Transformers-level exfoliating body wash kit. So, did Bob live up to the hype?

Reviewing Bob’s Body Wash and Exfoliator

When Bob’s body wash and exfoliator set arrived boxed up in sleek packaging, I have to admit I was shamefully excited. Even worse, I jumped straight in the shower for my second wash in as many hours to try it.

As you can probably tell, patience isn’t my strong point.

It didn’t take long before I was head over heels in love with Bob – and who knows, maybe I’ll run off with him after all.

The Bob Bars had a super-premium feel, and when you look at the ingredients list, it’s clear why. Top-quality additions like beeswax, shea butter, coconut oil, and citric acid are blended for the ultimate lather.

Dubbed The Gentleman, the scent was neutral yet deodorising, and came without the typical assault on my nose I’d become accustomed to with mint or mango shower gels. Just a clean, fresh fragrance that stuck around post-shower and didn’t tingle in all the wrong places.

Bob’s Body Wash and Exfoliator Set

The applicator? It’s the star of the show. Easy to grip, a dream to use, and delivering a deeper clean with those exfoliating brush heads – there’s simply no turning back once you’ve tried it.

Instead of dropping the soap or losing palmfuls of shower gel between my fingers, Bob delivered total coverage for both hair and body in a fuss-free, pain-free manner.

Forget coarse body scrubs – Bob’s exfoliator is the way to go. The perfect blend of soft but effective, it did the job without making me feel like I’d just completed a Tough Mudder.

Last, but by no means least, is that shower mount. Not only does it keep Bob right where you need him, but it hangs the body wash and exfoliator set upside down between showers.

The result? A sparkly clean applicator filled with soap that doesn’t turn to sludge.

Benefits of Bob

It would be remiss of me not to mention the additional benefits Bob brings to the table. Yes, at its core Bob is a body wash and exfoliator set – but it’s so much more.

By slashing the number of shower gel bottles added to shopping baskets, Bob’s refillable design cuts down on plastic waste and declutters bathrooms in one fell swoop.

What’s more, the applicator comes complete with a travel-proof cap, so there’s no need to load up on miniatures for that trip abroad.

Just chuck Bob in your bag and take him on a world tour. That’s what I call a smarter body wash and exfoliator bundle.

The Bottom Line

If you want a piece of Bob, the body wash and exfoliator set works best on a subscription basis. The initial kit costs £21, and comes complete with two Bob Bars.

Refills are £7 and deliver two Bob Bars at a time. Bob isn’t pushy – you can set the pace and decide how often you want them delivered.

Each Bob Bar is good for about 15 showers, so if you’re someone who tends to go for one a day, you’ll probably want it monthly.

It goes without saying that I’m now the chief cheerleader in Bob’s fan club, and I’ll definitely be back for more. To join me, head to Welcome to Bob’s website and grab your kit today.
