Former bodybuilding champion and straight-talking content creator Eddie Abbew is on the warpath again. This time, the man mountain has supermarkets in his crosshairs.
In a bid to make butchers great again, the 57-year-old shared some wise words of advice with his 3.8 million Instagram followers.
Speaking from his local butcher shop in his typically no-holds-barred fashion, Eddie Abbew said: “Getting meat from butchers and farm shops would make the industry far more lucrative for the workers. People wanted to be butchers before all these big supermarkets came and took everything.
“I was here when we used to get our food predominantly from independent butchers – that’s where I got my meat and eggs, then all of that changed.
“These big supermarkets just make stuff for us and we don’t even know what the f*ck they’re making. Shame.”
It’s not just your choice of shop that Eddie takes umbrage with, it’s also your choice of meat.
“When I first started training we used to eat a lot of chicken thighs,” he said. “Then slowly everybody was convinced about the chicken breast without the skin on.
“Then we all started getting hard-ons about chicken breast… I f*cking eat the chicken fat. The best bit of the chicken is actually the thigh.
“But because of the social conditioning, we all get hard-ons when we see chicken breast. Bullsh*t. Eat the chicken thigh with the fat on.
“There’s more nutrients and it’s actually better for you.”
The instruction is clear: head to the butchers and pick up as many chicken thighs as you can carry.
