Boxing fans across social media have been sent wild by Andy Ruiz transformation photo and the incredible physique change – but all isn’t as it seems.
The usually stocky fighter shared before and after pictures which appeared to show him sporting a shiny brand new six pack.
His supposed fresh look would have been an incredible and frankly astounding achievement given that he usually fights at around 118kg or 260lb for those of you that are that way inclined.
However, a few eagle-eyed fans noticed there was something fishy about the pictures.
The Destroyer, who boasts a record of 35 wins from 37 fights, had in fact played a clever prank on his followers by Photoshopping his head onto Anthony Joshua’s chiselled physique.
To be fair to those who fell for it, he had done a good job, even going as far as removing Joshua’s famous tattoo and replacing it with his own.
Anthony Joshua is a fighter well-known to Ruiz Jr. The American, who was originally born in Mexico, shocked the world when he downed Joshua to win the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO titles in 2019, becoming the first male boxer of Mexican heritage to win a world heavyweight championship in the process.
Joshua did, however, go on to claim his belts back in a much more uneventful meeting between the two. Joshua still also takes the win in the battle of physiques – for now, at least.
