What to Expect from the Biggest Gymshark Onyx Drop Yet
The Onyx V5 saga could sit comfortably among DC’s greatest ever storylines.
The return of Gymshark’s cult-favourite compression range has packed all the twists and turns of a classic comic book: superhero influencers, villains (bots), and more comebacks than Batman himself.
Now, the whole series is heading for its ultimate climax, with the biggest Gymshark Onyx drop yet scheduled for Thursday, 16th October.
Is this the last chance fans will get to cop a piece of gymwear heritage? Possibly, although nothing would surprise us at this point.
What we do know, however, is that Gymshark has pulled out all the stops to make this release the most epic chapter yet.
If you’re already warming up the refresh button ahead of the big reveal, here’s everything you need to know — from order limits and a new queuing system to two fresh colourways.
Gymshark Onyx Drop: When’s It Happening?
The online Gymshark Onyx drop is scheduled for Thursday, 16th October, at 7pm BST, 8pm CEST, 2pm EDT, 11am PDT, and 7pm GST.
It’s a global release, meaning fans in Australia and across Asia will also be able to get in on the action.
Early access went live in several stores at 10am:
- Regent Street, London
- Trafford Centre, Manchester
- Selfridges, Birmingham
- Kalverstraat, Amsterdam
- Roosevelt Mall, New York
- The Dubai Mall, Dubai
Gymshark also took a muscle-heavy squad — including David Laid, Carlos Belcast, Sam Sulek, and Christian “Swole” Rickets — to debut Onyx at the Olympia Expo last weekend.
Attendees even got the chance to win a top before anyone else by scanning a QR code on a mega ‘Onyx Vault’.
What’s Different About This Gymshark Onyx Drop?
There will be a few changes for this latest Gymshark Onyx drop. All orders will be limited to two items per customer, preventing those at the front of the queue from gobbling everything up.
On the subject of queuing, Gymshark is introducing a new system to account for the undoubtedly huge demand.
To be in with a shot, you’ll need to opt in for updates via email, SMS, or the app. Links to join the queue will be sent out 15 minutes before stock officially lands on the online shelves.

This is Gymshark’s biggest Onyx drop yet — in every sense of the word. That means more stock, more chances to finally get your hands on Onyx, and more colourways.
Six variations are expected to feature in this run, including two newcomers:
- Onyx Grey
- Carmine Red
- Brand Blue (in two styles)
- Lift Green
- Onyx Midnight
All colourways will be available in short sleeve, long sleeve, and tank options. There’s been no mention of any special treatment for Gymshark loyalty members. This Gymshark Onyx drop looks set to be the level playing field fans have been calling for.
What Is Gymshark Onyx?
Gymshark Onyx is the brand’s most exclusive and elusive collection. It only comes around once in a blue moon — and when it does, people tend to lose their minds.
Drops are always limited-edition, notoriously hard to get your hands on, and worn like a badge of honour by those who manage to.
The tops themselves feature heavy-duty compression, raised rubber Gymshark logos, and a cut that shows off the physique you’ve worked tirelessly to build.

Gymshark recommends sizing down for a true compression fit, so take note if you make it as far as checkout.
Pricing is expected to remain unchanged:
- Gymshark Onyx 5.0 Short Sleeve Top – £45
- Gymshark Onyx 5.0 Tank Top – £40
- Gymshark Onyx 5.0 Long Sleeve Top – £50
Double-scoop a pre-workout, draw on some battle paint, and hype yourself up in the mirror — just don’t sleep on this Gymshark Onyx drop, because you might not get another shot.
