Electrolytes have become almost impossible to ignore of late, hijacking gym floors, running tracks, busy offices and morning routines alike.
But in a twist few saw coming, they’re now heading for lunchboxes. That’s because Capri Sun is expanding its portfolio with Capri Sun Hydrate – one of the first-to-market drinks with electrolytes specifically designed for kids.
Rolling out to major retailers nationwide, Capri Sun Hydrate promises an essential blend of electrolytes and vitamin E, with 50% less sugar than the “leading regular sports drink” and no artificial flavours, colours or preservatives.
Here’s what you need to know about the unique innovation.
Nostalgia Meets Hydration
Capri Sun Hydrate debuts in the same nostalgic pouch format and three thirst-quenching flavours: Fruit Punch, Tropical Punch and the all-new Lemon Lime.
The familiar favourite says it’s formulated to support kids’ hydration from “little league sports to outdoor play”, providing a better-tasting alternative to current offerings aimed at adults.
Launching just in time for summer, it arrives at a moment when demand for lower-sugar beverages with benefits is surging.
On the subject of sugar, parents can expect 5g in every pouch, paired with 80mg of total electrolytes from sodium (30mg) and potassium (50mg).
That figure is extremely light compared to most hydration drinks, though Capri Sun Hydrate is set at a serving size of two pouches. There’s also 5mg of vitamin C and 1.5mg of vitamin E.

“Today’s parents are looking for beverage options that keep up with their kids’ active lifestyles, without the sugar and extra ingredients they don’t feel good about serving,” said The Kraft Heinz Company’s Kristina Hannant, the group which owns the licensing and distribution rights for Capri Sun in the United States.
“With Capri Sun Hydrate, we saw an opportunity to bring something brand new to the kids beverage aisle – a beverage made specifically for kids that delivers the fun and flavor kids love with the functional benefits parents are looking for.”
Hydrate builds on the brand’s broader portfolio expansion following the first-ever multi-serve format and the subsequent rollout of Capri Sun single-serve bottles, which expanded Capri Sun into convenience and on-the-go channels.
A similar electrolyte blend also launched in Europe earlier this year in Mango & Peach and Blackberry & Raspberry flavours, underscoring Capri Sun’s ambition to crack the fast-growing hydration segment.
Where to Find Capri Sun Hydrate
Capri Sun Hydrate will make its way to major retailers across America, including Walmart, Target, Amazon and more.
