Everything You Need to Know About The Padel Yard

Thinking about heading to The Padel Yard? Here’s everything you need to know before you go.

The Padel Yard has quickly become one of the most talked about spots in London’s growing padel scene, and once you see what they’ve built in Wandsworth, it’s pretty clear why.

Padel is having a bit of a moment right now, and this place has come in at just the right time, with a setup that puts as much focus on the social side as it does the sport.

So let’s take a closer look at everything you need to know about The Padel Yard.

Where is The Padel Yard?

The Padel Yard is based in Wandsworth, South West London, at 2 Armoury Way, SW18 1HZ.

It’s nice and easy to find, and the vibe when you get there is really warm and welcoming, feeling more like a social club than a typical sports venue.

And that’s very much the point. See, The Padel Yard is all about bringing people together, so the whole space has been designed to make you want to stick around after your game to chat and just hang out.

What courts are available at The Padel Yard?

So what courts can you expect to find at The Padel Yard? Well, there are 3 indoor padel courts and 6 outdoor padel courts, so you’ve got some great options whether you want to stay under cover or head outside.

The indoor courts are especially handy with London weather doing its thing, so you can still get a game in without worrying about rain ruining your plans.

There’s also a pickleball court available, which is a nice extra if you fancy trying something different or just want to mix things up with your group.

Everything is set up with floodlights too, so evening games are very much part of the setup here. Which works well if you’re heading down after work or just prefer playing later on in the day.

Opening times

The Padel Yard runs from 7am through to 11pm every day, which makes it really easy to fit a game or two into your day.

Whether you like to squeeze a quick game in before work, head over on your lunchbreak, or hit the courts later in the evening and then hang around for a drink afterwards you can do it all here.

How to book at The Padel Yard

Everything at The Padel Yard is booked through the MATCHi app, so once you’ve got that set up it’s all pretty straightforward.

Non-members can book up to 7 days in advance, while members get access 20 days ahead, which is useful if you’re trying to lock in regular games with the same group.

Bookings go live at midnight for each new day, so if you’re aiming for peak evening slots it’s worth getting in there quickly.

Membership

The Padel Yard membership is £40 a month and is clearly aimed at people who are planning to play regularly.

You get £4 per hour off padel courts and £2 per hour off pickleball courts, which starts to add up if you’re on court a couple of times a week. You also get priority booking, access to members only events, and entry to other Game4Padel venues around the UK.

It’s worth knowing that the monthly option comes with a 12 month commitment, so it’s more suited to people who know they’re going to stick with it.

Pricing at The Padel Yard

Padel courts are £60 per hour in total, which works out at £15 per person for a standard four player game if you’re not a member. Members pay £12 per person per hour, so there’s a clear saving there.

Pickleball courts are £20 per hour, which comes out at £5 per person for non members and £3 per person for members when split between four.

If you use the MATCHi split payment feature, there’s a small 25p fee per player.

And if you don’t have your own equipment, you can rent rackets on arrival. Padel rackets are £10 per person, and pickleball rackets are £5. Balls are available too, with tubes priced at £8.

More than just a court

What really stands out here is the atmosphere. It’s not just about turning up, playing, and heading off. There’s a proper social side built in, with a bar serving craft beers and smoothies, and space to actually sit and hang out.

The team here are on a mission to give the people of London somewhere cool and fun with an electric atmosphere where they can not just play padel but also make new friends and new memories.

Final thoughts on The Padel Yard

The Padel Yard feels like exactly what London needed as padel keeps growing. It’s got the courts, the flexibility, and the setup to suit both beginners and regular players, but more importantly, it’s somewhere you actually enjoy spending time.

Whether you’re heading down for a proper game, trying padel for the first time, or just meeting friends for a knock about and a drink after, The Padel Yard is the perfect destination.
