I’m here today to tell you about an iron paradise that you will want to visit. But before I do, Durham? Where is it and why is it worth visiting (if you don’t already live there)?
Durham is a beautiful city in the Northeast of England, just south of Newcastle. In 2020 received ‘one of the most beautiful places to visit in 2020’ by The Independent and Conde Nast’s readers voted it ‘Best City in the UK’. So, yeah, Durham is very, very nice and if you’re heading anywhere near Newcastle then I would highly recommend stopping in Durham at some point.
Ultraflex
UltraFlex is a chain of Gyms across the UK that have each been meticulously and lovingly built over a period of 7 – 8 months each. UltraFlex pride itself, and you can read in their ‘about us’ section, in building gyms that people will enjoy being in, they don’t believe in buying a bunch of leftover equipment, painting a couple of walls, and calling it quits. They want to create a haven for gym lovers that don’t want to wait 15 minutes in the middle of a session for a spare squat rack.
Owned by Charlie Mardon and managed by Anthony Bailes you are going to step into gyms created by leading professionals and gym fanatics which means no stone has been left unturned with every piece of equipment you could ever need.
UltraFlex Durham
Now onto UltraFlex Durham, I already love this place, so let me list off the facilities and weight training areas for you…I don’t think you’re ready for this. Hardcore corner, free weights, legs area, cardio area, prowler track, lifting platforms, posing room, showers, Regen: Physio, Jax Barbers, and Sunbeds!! Let me just say it again…posing room, hardcore corner, physio, barbers, and sunbeds. That’s insane. This really is a haven for anyone who enjoys the atmosphere of a proper old-school gym with the modern twist of exceptional facilities and added extras like a barber!
There is something enticing about red and black too, UltraFlex knows, the cheeky devils and have covered the place in red and black gear. It’ll look incredible in your Instagram pictures and you’ll feel alive when you’re there!
Membership Prices
Ultraflex Durham membership prices will not bust your bank account either, a monthly direct debit of only £40 will allow you to enjoy all of the facilities (barbers, physio, and sunbed will be at an extra cost). If you think about what you pay at your current gym, for example, I pay around £47, and yes I go to a decent gym but it isn’t a patch on UltraFlex! If you need to try it out, a day pass will only be £9!
UltraFlex also has a great community, head over to Instagram to bring a friend for free deals, Christmas toy charity appeals, and so on. It’s a gym where you can get involved and feel like a part of it all! Whilst you’re over there have a look at their equipment as well, I want you to be as excited as I am about this, if I thought of my dream gym, it would not look far from this.
