Dillon Danis has revealed his fight against KSI is on the brink of collapse after claiming the YouTuber has been trying to alter the contract just over two weeks from the fight.
Speaking to retired mixed martial artist Chael Sonnen, Danis said KSI and his team have been acting ‘fishy’ in an attempt to get the bout scrapped for fear of losing.
He said: “I feel like this fight won’t happen. I think they’re starting to get scared. I think they saw clips and even you saying I was going to win and they’re trying to make like weird things in the contract now 2 weeks before. I feel like they’re looking for a way out. If it does happen like that I don’t wait for nobody.”
Danis said he would instead jump on the Bellator 290 card on February 4, when Ryan Bader is scheduled to defend his title against Fedor Emelianenko.
“I just keep moving,” he added. “Whatever happens, happens, I don’t need anybody I just need myself. If they want to go and make all these stupid rules for the fight…where everything is handicapped for me, then I’m not going to settle like that. I’m not like Tyrone Woodley that needs to pay child support for 8 baby mommas.”
There has been speculation since the bout was made that Danis might attempt an elaborate stunt to pull out of the fight.
Such suspicions were further fuelled when he failed to turn up for the face-off earlier this month, leaving KSI awkwardly standing in front of the cameras on his own.
Either way, KSI still seems convinced the fight will go ahead without a hitch. He tweeted: “January 14th = Level 2 KSI.”
Before following up with: “It’s taken a while to understand and get the technique right…But I think it’s time to show the world now.”
Dillon Danis and KSI are set to go to war at Wembley Arena, London in the New Year.
