Dr. Stephanie Buttermore Dies at 36, Leaving a Lasting Impact on Science and Fitness
Popular fitness influencer and cancer researcher Dr. Stephanie Buttermore has died at age 36.
The tragic news was broken by her fiancée and fellow fitness creator, Jeff Nippard, on Friday.
“It is with profound sorrow that we share the sudden passing of Jeff’s fiancée and partner of ten years, Stephanie,” Nippard’s team wrote on Instagram.
“As many of you know, Stephanie meant the world to Jeff. She will be remembered for her warmth and compassion, her love for her family, and her PhD research on ovarian cancer.
“We kindly ask for privacy as we navigate this tragic loss. Thank you for your understanding and support during this difficult time.”
At the time of writing, no information on the cause of her death has been shared.
Much like Nippard, Stephanie Buttermore held a deep interest in both science and fitness.
According to her YouTube channel, which has over one million subscribers, she obtained a PhD in pathology and cell biology with a focus on the “molecular mechanisms that drive ovarian cancer progression.”
Alongside her work in cancer research, she posted informative content that mixed training, beauty, lifestyle, food challenges, and nutrition with a “scientific twist.”
Nippard, meanwhile, boasts 3.8 million followers on Instagram. He built a huge fanbase by creating science-based bodybuilding videos in digestible formats.

The pair announced their engagement in October 2022. Their relationship began after Nippard sent Buttermore a message on social media, “immediately” sparking a connection.
“We started Skyping for 3-4 hours every day for about a month (no joke) until I went to visit her in Florida from Canada,” he wrote. “Our first date was a shoulder workout and I will never forget it.”
The news of Stephanie Buttermore’s passing comes just days after she celebrated her 36th birthday on February 25.
Shortly before that, Nippard shared a picture of them out for a Valentine’s Day meal.
