From Widespread Criticism to Creatine Comeback: Ovrload Crealyte Gummies Reloaded
It’s been a turbulent few months for Johnny Lye and Ovrload, to say the least.
In the blink of an eye, the young founder went from scaling the brand — fast — to finding himself facing a mammoth rebuild project.
There’s still a long way to go in Ovrload’s redemption arc, but today, Lye and co. left base camp and began their ascent back to the top with the official relaunch.
Here’s the story so far.
Ovrload Crealyte Gummies: The Exposé
Lye launched Ovrload when he was just 18, and it didn’t take long for the fledgling business to take flight.
Orders started to roll in for their flagship Crealyte Gummies — a blend of creatine, electrolytes, and vitamin D3.
Customers loved the concept of taking typically gritty and salty supplements in gummy form. Five-star reviews became commonplace. More than 250,000 units were sold.
Then, Ovrload came onto the radar of online personal trainer, business coach, and myth-busting influencer James Smith.
Smith — who was initially so impressed by Ovrload Crealyte Gummies that he invited Lye onto a private jet to Ibiza to discuss investment — became suspicious.
He sent samples off for testing and found that instead of the advertised 1.5g of creatine per gummy, there was, in fact, just 0.0848g.
Speaking in the exposé shared with his 431,000 YouTube subscribers, Smith said: “Looking at this we can assume there was once creatine in the whole of China, where the factory exists — it’s that little.”
Industry rivals Known Nutrition also got in on the act, sending their own samples of Ovrload Crealyte Gummies to a lab for testing.
Again, results confirmed the efficacy was way off — with only 0.05% of the claimed dose.
Ovrload quickly responded by freezing sales and launching an “immediate and thorough investigation.”
Three months passed without update. Then, late last week, Lye posted a message to the Ovrload community on Instagram.
The 20-year-old entrepreneur said he initially believed the reports were just competitors trying to tear Ovrload down.
But as the noise grew louder, he had no choice but to bring everything to a standstill and conduct his own testing.
What he discovered confirmed his worst fears. While there were some legitimate batches, Ovrload had been sold — and was selling — plenty of duds too.
“Most results show that they did in fact contain creatine, though often it was 15–20% less than we had claimed,” he said.
“However, some batches showed even bigger gaps — that some of the gummies we had been sold contained next-to-no creatine.
“After everything we had built, the manufacturer we had trusted had been cutting corners without us knowing.”
The Comeback
During the blackout, Lye explained he and his team shifted production of Ovrload Crealyte Gummies to a trusted supplier in mainland Europe.
Stringent third-party testing protocols have also been put in place, with samples from every batch being ratified by Eurofins for their creatine content.
The gummies are now Informed Sport every-batch certified, too, according to Ovrload’s website. Results will be available to view via a new transparency portal.

To signal what Lye will hope is a new dawn for the business, Ovrload has released two fresh flavours: Sour Green Apple and Peach Iced Tea.
Both went live today. Posting on the brand’s Instagram page, Lye wrote: “Hey everyone. And just like that… we’re back!
“It’s been three long months of building EVERYTHING again from the ground up, including our two new flavours — Sour Green Apple and Peach Iced Tea.
“I just wanted to say thank you, again, for your support. We couldn’t have done this without you.
“And if you’d like to give Crealyte® 2.0 a try, it’s live now.”
What’s Happening About Refunds?
Lye has stated his team are already in the process of backdating refunds or exchanges for affected batches. However, the court of public opinion is still very much divided.
With little transparency over exactly which batches were impacted — and when the manufacturer started cutting corners — the scale of the problem is unknown.

Questions have been asked about the strength of other ingredients in the defective gummies, too.
Ovrload’s social media comments are a mix of support for Lye’s resilience and scepticism from those who had been receiving the product on subscription for months.
Understandably, their small team is under huge pressure juggling refunds and a full-scale relaunch. Lye has asked for people to bear with him on the support front while he works to right the wrongs.
Ovrload Crealyte Gummies: Here to Stay
On the face of it, Ovrload is taking all the right steps to make amends and finally put this scandal to bed.
If they can pull it off, this will be one of the most incredible redemption arcs the industry’s ever seen. And judging by initial fan reaction, they might just do it.
Lye has shown grit, humility, and brutal honesty in the face of some seriously challenging circumstances. The past three months have proven a learning curve — and a steep one at that — for a young founder shooting high early in his career.
Make no mistake: the appetite for Ovrload Crealyte Gummies hasn’t gone anywhere. What happens next will be a defining chapter for everyone involved… just don’t bet against them.
