Sunna van Kampen Shares His Top 5 New Health Finds at Lidl

Sunna van Kampen has been checking out the latest products at Lidl, and he’s shared a new YouTube video with five health finds he thinks are worth knowing about.

The idea behind the video is pretty simple. Eating well can get expensive very quickly, so Sunna has picked out a few new products that make healthier choices feel a bit more affordable.

And there are some really good finds in there, from proper sourdough and frozen burgers to a weekend treat that might surprise you.

So let’s take a look at Sunna van Kampen’s list.

1. A proper sourdough loaf

The first find is Lidl’s new white sourdough loaf, priced at £1.89.

Sunna is usually pretty harsh about the Lidl bakery, but this one changed his mind. The ingredient list is short and simple, without all the extra bits you often find in standard supermarket bread.

He also points out that sourdough can be easier on the gut because the fermentation process helps break down the wheat.

If you don’t normally eat that much bread, he suggests putting it straight in the freezer and toasting a piece whenever you need it.

2. Green olive paste

Next up is a green olive paste for £1.49.

It’s made with 90% green olive puree, along with olive oil, red pepper, herbs, lemon juice, and lactic acid.

Sunna likes it because it’s one of those simple things you can keep in the fridge and use to make meals a bit more interesting.

Spread it on toast, add it to bruschetta, or use it with tomatoes for an easy Mediterranean style lunch.

3. Aberdeen Angus burgers

Sunna also picked out a pack of four frozen Aberdeen Angus quarter pounder burgers for £3.39.

They’re made with 99% beef, plus salt and pepper, which is why he rates them over the cheese and onion version sitting next to them.

His advice is to keep a pack in the freezer for the days when you’re tempted to order a takeaway. Cook one up, add some vegetables, and you’ve got a quick meal without loads of extra ingredients.

4. Sourdough baguettes

Another bread find was Lidl’s stone baked sourdough baguettes.

Sunna says these are much better than a lot of the usual bake at home options, which can contain emulsifiers, gums, and added oils.

They also last for around three weeks, so they’re handy to keep in the cupboard for lunches or those evenings when you need something quick.

5. Frozen croissants

The last pick is a box of eight frozen all butter croissants for £2.79.

Sunna is clear that these are more of a weekend treat, but he likes the simple ingredient list and the fact they cost far less than buying one from a coffee shop.

His view is that eating well most of the time still leaves room for things you enjoy. And honestly, a warm croissant with coffee on a Sunday morning sounds like a pretty good way to prove his point.

Sunna van Kampen’s Lidl picks

There’s a good mix in Sunna van Kampen’s latest Lidl finds, with everyday basics like bread and burgers sitting alongside olive paste and a box of croissants for the weekend.

And that’s really the point of the video. Eating well doesn’t have to mean buying expensive health foods or cutting out everything you enjoy. Sometimes it’s simply about checking the ingredients and knowing which options are worth putting in your trolley.
