I love it when it’s done properly, but I’m always slightly wary about trying a new pistachio-flavoured anything because you never really know if it’ll actually be any good or not.

Meet Vieve
Vieve are on a bit of a mission to make protein enjoyable, with products that have great macros and that taste great too.
The range includes Protein Water, which gives you 20g of protein in a light, fruity drink, as well as collagen powder for adding protein into your day without making everything feel like a shake.
Then there are the protein bars, which are made for those moments when you want something snacky, filling, and macro-friendly, but still want it to taste like an actual treat.

Testing the Pistachio Protein Bar
Vieve’s pistachio protein bar is called Pistachio Punch, and it really does pack a punch of pistachio flavour.
It has that rich, roasted pistachio flavour, with a smooth creamy coating that makes it feel so much more indulgent than most high-protein bars.
The texture is soft and satisfying too, with pieces of real pistachio mixed in.
So this pistachio protein bar, well, it actually tastes like pistachio. Because it’s actually made with pistachios.
There’s also no weird aftertaste, which is such a relief because so many other protein bars seem good to start with but leave you with a nasty taste in your mouth.
Probably the biggest thing I can say about this pistachio protein bar though, is that it doesn’t feel like you’re eating a protein bar. It just feels like a great-tasting snack, that just happens to give you 15g of protein.
And while we’re talking macros, this bar also has just 1.1g of sugar and comes in at 158 calories. So it really is a great option if you’re looking for a healthier alternative to your usual snack bars.

If you love the pistachio protein bar, there are a few other flavours in the Vieve protein bar range that are definitely worth trying.
The range includes 2 more flavours, Strawberry Blondie and Coconut Craze.
I haven’t tried those yet, but they both sound like they need to be added to my next order. Strawberry Blondie has real strawberry pieces and a white chocolate style coating, while Coconut Craze has a milk chocolate style coating and pieces of coconut in the mix.
And if they’re anywhere near as good as the pistachio protein bar, they should be well worth trying.
Final Thoughts
After taste-testing Vieve’s pistachio protein bar, I’d definitely have it again.
The flavour is the main thing for me. It actually tastes like pistachio, the texture is soft, the coating gives it that more indulgent feel, and there’s none of that weird protein bar aftertaste.
The macros are strong too, with 15g of protein, 1.1g of sugar, 158 calories, and plenty of fibre, but it still feels like something you’d actually want to eat.
If you’re already a pistachio fan, this is definitely the Vieve bar I’d start with. And if you’re bored of protein bars that all taste the same, the pistachio protein bar is a really nice change.
