One thing I will always have in my kitchen cupboard for those evenings when I want something quick and easy for dinner is some pasta and sauce.
It’s not always the healthiest option though, and when you’re looking to hit your macro targets you’ll fall short with the protein unless you add some chicken or beans.

The pasta cooks in around 10 minutes so it’s perfect for those nights when you’re short on time but still want something tasty and nutritious for dinner. And with 17g of protein, 11g of fibre, and just 283 calories per 85g serving, this pasta really does make a nutritious meal.
I wasn’t sure what to expect from pasta made with peas, but the texture was spot on with an al dente bite and there was no grittiness either which you can sometimes get with gluten-free pasta. What really made me fall ever so slightly in love with ZENB though is their range of Gourmet Sauces that pair perfectly with their pasta.
I’ve tried all three of the Gourmet Sauces in their range and they’re all incredible. The flavours are so well-balanced and delicious, and there are no added nasties in there either. All the sauces count as one of your five a day, are gluten-free, and made with as much of the whole vegetable as possible each time.
This means that the cherry tomato sauce uses the whole tomato, including the skin and seeds, so you get all the goodness from it. And there’s no waste either.
ZENB use a slow cooking technique to make their Gourmet Sauces, which releases all the natural sweetness from the vegetables, as well as adding depth and intensity to the flavour and creating a beautifully soft texture.
This means they can keep the ingredient list simple without compromising on taste. Take that Cherry Tomato sauce, for example. It’s made with tomatoes, onion, carrot, and celery, with some water and olive oil to loosen things up. And for some added flavour there’s basil, sea salt, garlic, dried parsley, ground black pepper, rice vinegar, and dried oregano.
There are no added preservatives, no thickeners, and no artificial flavours or colours. It’s as natural as you can get, and it tastes amazing! The other flavours in the range are Red Pepper, which is made with roasted red peppers, sauteed onions, and olive oil, and Sweet Carrot which is made with slow-cooked carrots, tomatoes, and oregano.
