Beyond Debuts ‘Beyond Immerse,’ a New Plant-Based Protein Drink

Plant-based meat maker Beyond has pulled off a drastic lane change with the introduction of a new protein drink.

Beyond Immerse marks the brand’s first foray into the booming functional beverage market, and one few were expecting.

The alt-meat category has seen a marked decline in recent months, with Beyond not immune to the impacts of shifting consumer desires.

Once at the forefront of the plant-based trend, the company reported a third-quarter loss of $110.7 million in November 2025, up from $26.6 million in the same period the year prior.

By contrast, meat and dairy were both firmly on the rebound, driven by a renewed hunger for protein and an aversion to ultra-processed foods.

That’s not to say the plant-based category is dead in the water, but it does go some way toward explaining why Beyond has moved to diversify its portfolio.

But does Beyond Immerse have what it takes to change the brand’s fortunes and make a dent in an ever-swelling category? Let’s take a look.

Introducing Beyond Immerse

Beyond Meat’s switch from solids to liquids comes in a unique format. The canned offering packs protein, fiber, antioxidants, and electrolytes into a clear water, ticking plenty of popular wellness boxes in one big gulp.

But there’s a twist: the three debut flavors — Peach Mango, Orange Tangerine, and Lemon Lime — allow consumers to choose between two protein levels.

The higher tier delivers 20g of complete hydrolyzed pea protein, while the lighter option clocks in at 10g.

The other key difference between the two variations of Beyond Immerse is calories. The 10g cans weigh in at 60 calories, while the 20g option remains light at 100 calories — despite boasting double the protein.

Fiber (7g), carbs (9g), and sugar (1g) remain consistent across both, with only slight variations in electrolyte content.

“With Beyond Immerse, we are bringing our pioneering expertise in unlocking the power of plants to a functional beverage line,” said Ethan Brown, founder and CEO of Beyond Meat.

“Our intent is simple: immerse the consumer in the remarkable nutrition of plants — from protein to fiber, with the addition of antioxidants and electrolytes — all in a single refreshing and satisfying 12 fl oz drink.

“Beyond Immerse has been specially and carefully designed to provide nutrients that are critical to muscle health, gut health, and immune function, so that whatever the goal is, consumers can Go Beyond.”

The Gymfluencers Verdict

There’s no denying that Beyond Immerse plants a foot in several booming categories. Fiber, in particular, is tipped by many to become the next major obsession in 2026, snapping at the heels of protein mania.

Hydration beverages are also continuing to gain traction, as consumers take a more holistic view of daily performance and well-being.

Beyond Immerse is a solid contender in the functional drinks market, that much is certain. It boasts a strong protein-to-calorie ratio, plenty of trending extras, and a solid dose of vitamin C for good measure.

The real question is how consumers will receive a drink from a brand best known for vegan meat. Beyond seems to be trying to figure that one out for itself.

Immerse is currently only available via the brand’s Test Kitchen website as it gauges whether the concept has legs.

Cases of 12 are available at $29.95 for the 10g protein option and $34.95 for the 20g version.
