Spread the Word: Hunter & Gather Avocado Oil Mayonnaise Secures Major Retail Listing
Hunter & Gather’s award-winning Avocado Oil Mayonnaise is the spread that’s spreading fast.
The better-for-you brand has just announced its squeaky-clean condiment is now available in 176 Waitrose & Partners stores across the UK.
It’s been a masterclass in persistence from Hunter & Gather’s co-founder, Jeff Webster, who first pitched to the grocery giant back in December 2019.
After years of trying, countless emails, and three Waitrose garden parties, his efforts have finally paid dividends.
“It’s only taken 6 years,” Webster joked on LinkedIn.
“This is a massive moment for us, and it’s been one hell of a journey. From challenging the status quo to now partnering with one of the UK’s most respected retailers, it really does feel like things have come full circle.
“But what’s kept us going hasn’t changed: to make better health simpler and more accessible, with real, nutrient-dense food made from ingredients you can recognise.”
Hunter & Gather Avocado Oil Mayonnaise is a category leader in the realm of clean condiments.
In fact, it’s the UK’s first mayo to be made with 100% avocado oil, as opposed to diluted blends.
The sinless spread features just four ingredients: pasteurised British free-range egg yolk, apple cider vinegar, pink Himalayan salt, and, of course, avocado oil.
That slimmed-down panel means it’s free from sugar, artificial chemicals, rapeseed or veg oils, and packs less than 1g of carbohydrates per 100g of spread.
“None of this would’ve been possible without everyone who’s supported us along the way: our team, our customers, and our retail partners who’ve believed in what we’re building,” Webster continued.
“If you’re after a mayo made the way it should be… No seed oils. No fillers. Just real food, made properly.

The ‘Classic’ edition of Hunter & Gather Avocado Oil Mayonnaise is also available for online shoppers, retailing at £4.50 for a 175g jar.
