PerfectTed Pistachio Matcha Powder Lands Exclusively in 685 Tesco Stores

Pistachio, Please: PerfectTed Pistachio Matcha Powder Hits 685 Tesco Stores Across the UK

Two years ago, PerfectTed was celebrating its launch in the nation’s favourite Tesco meal deal.

With matcha still a relatively nascent concept to Brits at the time, landing in 1,175 stores was a mammoth achievement for a brand aiming to rewrite the rules of energy.

Fast forward to today, and the UK matcha market is booming — with PerfectTed firmly at the forefront.

In what marks an incredible full-circle moment, the Steven Bartlett-backed challenger has announced an exclusive new product rollout with the supermarket heavyweight.

PerfectTed Pistachio Matcha Powder has just touched down in 685 Tesco stores across the UK, fusing two of the nation’s most pulsating trends.

“Matcha’s been having a moment, but you know what else has gone a bit nuts? Pistachio,” wrote PerfectTed co-founder Marisa Poster in an announcement.

“It’s THE coveted flavour right now: croissants, lattes, gelato, ‘Dubai chocolate’, every bakery cabinet. And the behind the scenes numbers are wild.”

Pistachio prices have risen between 30-35% year on year, driven by the viral Dubai chocolate kickstarting a clamour for all things green and nutty.

In some markets, around 90% of crops sold out by April this year, with surging demand and a poor harvest creating the perfect storm.

Thankfully, the PerfectTed Pistachio Matcha Powder isn’t adding to the crisis.

Poster said the goal was to “capture the flavour everyone’s obsessed with”, while keeping the product nut-free and allergen-friendly so that it’s inclusive to all.

“The result? Creamy, pistachio-gelato-meets-matcha that’s become the office ritual to beat the 3pm slump,” she added.

This latest release stays rooted in the brand’s clean energy ethos, featuring just three elements: first flush ceremonial-grade matcha, coconut sugar, and natural flavourings.

Similar to PerfectTed’s existing line-up of flavoured matcha powders — which includes Blueberry, Vanilla, and Strawberry — the Pistachio variety mixes with milk to form a drink that boasts several benefits.

Rich in caffeine and the amino acid L-Theanine, matcha promotes channelled energy and focus in a way that’s calmer than coffee.

The traditional Japanese green tea is also bursting with antioxidants and believed to support heart and liver health.

Unlike its flavoured peers, PerfectTed Pistachio Matcha Powder will only be available via Tesco. The 75g pouches are retailing at £9.95, or £7.80 through Clubcard.

The drop marks yet another reason for the team behind PerfectTed to look back at 2025 with beaming smiles.

The brand recently became the most successful deal in Dragons’ Den history, surpassing a £140 million valuation following another hugely successful funding round.

Earlier this year, PerfectTed was officially named the UK’s fastest-growing founder-led business, ranking first in the FEBE Growth 100 with a 532% revenue increase.

Expansions into Europe and Australia mean PerfectTed can now proudly claim to be one of the biggest — if not the biggest — matcha sellers worldwide.
