Swimmer Emily Barclay is one of the most recent athletes to sign up for May’s inaugural Enhanced Games.
The freestyle and butterfly specialist is now one of 13 pro swimmers who’ll take to the pool at the event in Las Vegas.
From World University Games medals to the study of human movement, here’s everything you need to know about Emily.
1) She studied at Loughborough University
Emily Barclay studied at Loughborough University and successfully balanced her education with top-notch performances in the pool.
She began to make a name for herself in 2019, when she won silver in the 50m freestyle at the British Swimming Championships, finishing just behind elite World Championship competitor Anna Hopkin.
Later that year, Barclay competed for Great Britain at the World University Games in Naples, where she won bronze in the 50m freestyle final.
2) Emily Barclay signed for the University of Arkansas Razorbacks
Her success on home soil drew international attention, and in 2020 she signed with the University of Arkansas Razorbacks as a graduate athlete.

Here, she competed alongside new teammate Anna Hopkin, and in 2022, she helped the Razorbacks set the school record for the 400-yard freestyle relay at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championships.
3) She studied Kinesiology while in America
While competing as a Razorback, Emily continued her education and mastered in kinesiology, the study of human movement.
